“Lovely and peaceful place to stay in early Spring”

We loved this sweet little house on a quiet road with beautiful views of sunlit fields. From start to finish our stay was cozy, peaceful, and convenient. The hosts were very clear in their communications and instructions so for example self check-in was hassle-free and using the hot tub was a breeze. We arrived after dark and appreciated the string lights above the entrance that made for a warm welcome. The furnishings and finishes are lovely; the bedrooms and bathrooms well-appointed, quiet, and comfortable. Great location just a short drive to several nice restaurants, and we did a couple hikes in Sandbanks which was nearly deserted and stunningly beautiful this time of year.

The keyless entry was a bit tough to figure out, but once we did, open sesame! the locking part was tough too. Some directive on that type of lock would be valuable. The beautiful modern farmhouse is equipped with many coffee brewing options including espresso options, bean grinder, drip machine, and a great array of tea options including tea cups, tea pots and even tea. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and would suit staying in, cooking at home perfectly well. The bar is also well equipped with recipe books, and tools of the cocktail trade. We cooked breakfast in, and went out for other meals. There are two bedrooms, one up stairs with a powder room, and one on the main floor which can access the main floor washroom with shower. The upstairs is a little steep and the dormers a little low for head bopping but the upstairs room is large. Looks to be the original home with a more recent addition of the main home. The shower was great with good pressure. There are Turkish towels available for outside use, when using the hot tub. The hot tub worked very well, and the top easily opens, and closes. The outside lights are pretty when things darker up. The peonies on the side of the house would be blooming by now, and were just starting. The adjacent field of wildflowers was beautiful in purple. The fire ban was likely in play, so we did not use the fire pit. it was a little close to the edge of the woods, so a wee scary far away from the hours. We see why but within a clearing would be better. The living room was very comfy for book reading or visiting. The views of open fields are lovely. The black framed windows frame the outside view like a painting. One day we did see a senior old loose dog walking by on the road, but he bolted when he saw we noticed him. The home is close to Wellington to go "to town" which is what we did for dinner. The vineyards are also close by. The screened in porch would be fun but we did not use it.
