“just perfect!”

We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay! The room is spacious, clean, and well equipped. The terrace with a direct view of the sea was simply fantastic! Two surf spots and the sunset right on the doorstep – what more could you ask for? :) Ajith is the perfect host and helped us with everything! The staff at the café and surf shop are also super friendly and helpful. A real gem in Hikkaduwa!

“Best surf location, clean, comfortable, quiet.”

Located right by the main reef break, this is the best place for surfing. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was comfy and big, the AC and dehumidifier were effective, the bathroom was clean and spatious. Quiet at night, we didn't hear much from the restaurant. I think most customers were here to surf, so relatively early to bed. Nice, quiet hotel. The service was great. Agit was always around and would help bring extra blankets or fix something at a moment's notice. The staff, Chmika, Chamy, and Dabit always greeted me with a smile and we're chill (I hope I spelled their names correctly). The surfboard rental was pretty cheap. 1000 lkr for an hour and 4000 lkr for a day for a soft top. Even less money for a hard top. Easy to rent, and located right on the beach. Overall, I highly recommend stating here. Fantastic value for money, great for surfing.

The staff made the property what it was. Everyone was super friendly and treated you like family. They were happy to make you off the menu lunches and kept the social space clean. The property is right on the beach and close to all local cafes and restaurants.

So friendly family and stuff. Stayed for two days. My second visit here, this time together with my son. Great food and vibe, recommend from both of us and we will definitely be back next time in Sri Lanka! Very helpful with transport and flexibility.

Superb staff, so friendly and welcoming. The owner makes sure you are taken care of. Everything was just perfect! If you want to treat yourself, upgrade to king room; huge room with high ceiling, and most of all - balcony with a view straight to the sea. The other rooms seemed also very nice, you can always go to their beach cafe to sit and stand the ocean.

Location, service and atmosphere. The balcony infront of the sea if you take the rooms on the upper floor. The room is spacious and everything was clean. Downstairs you have a surf shop with surf boards for rent, Great coffee and friendly stuff. Thanks!

Due to it being a solo surf trip the guest house is literally on the 2 main breaks which means no transport required to surf Hikkaduwa. It’s right in town so very convenient for access to shops and restaurants. Staff were lovely and made you feel right at home. View from the terrace is epic if you are into surfing.

“Wonderfull”

We had a wonderfull stay at the mountain wave hotel! Especially the staff was really kind, always happy. The chalet was amazing, has everything you need. We would really come back here and recommend it! Wonderfull location too, room view over the ocean and you are at the beach in a few steps.

We stayed for 3 nights in Mountain Wave and loved it. The staff are friendly and welcoming and keen to help in any way with rooms, taxis, surfing etc. The location can’t be beaten- they are right on the beach with direct access. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Loads of food options around.

Bang in middle of the bay

The beach right in front of the hotel is so beautiful especially during sunset!! Everyone was really friendly and the rooms are great. Would book my stay there all over again!
