Verena was a fabulous host , all the facilities were maintained to a European Standard exceptionally clean & breakfast and dinner were fantastic 🙏 we loved our stay in her little piece of paradise away from the main road but close enough to walk to the beach .

“Hidden peaceful oasis”

The property is a home away from home, comfortable clean and serene. The staff feel like family , and are happy to accomodate with any requests and needs. My daughter was very ill on arrival and the staff immediately looked after her from the kindness of their heart. We will always be grateful for this. The villa is a small oasis hidden in the back streets, away from tourists. It is quiet and the beds and pillows were the best we experienced all throughout our travels in Sri Lanka. Verena is a warm host, and makes sure that guests are doing well and checks in each day to see how you are.

Everything is amazing, the Villa itself so beautiful and dressed in French and European antiques. The room was spacious and had everything we needed and verandah with seating to watch the bird life and monkeys. The breakfasts were really good with several options and a lovely cup of the tea!! The pool and gardens are beautiful and clean with sun and shade. Location is peaceful and a 15 minute walk to the beach or depending on mood a tuk tuk.

Very helpful, cultural and engaged host, who helps and do everything to have relaxing and nice time in Hikkaduwa. Nice, comfort and clean villa offers various breakfast and optional, good quality and delicious dinner.

“Beautiful boutique hotel with excellent service and food”

The property is beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean; the staff are extremely friendly and polite and eager to ensure you have an excellent stay. Great breakfast options and two delicious dinners- a curry night and a really delicious BBQ for 20 people towards the end of our stay where the team took extremely good care of us and our visiting friends. We used the villa as a base to explore Hikkauwa with other friends staying in the area and the security were very accommodating of our group returning at different times throughout the day and night.

Lovely comfortable house with a great garden, lovely pool, security and fully staffed with delicious food courtesy of chef - really no need to eat elsewhere. We ate some absolutely amazing meals. Tours were easy to organize and of high quality. The beach was 10 minutes walk away and was amazing. Evenings were pleasant and were enjoyed with a nice bottle of wine!

The food service was delicious. The facilities were exceptional and the staff were so helpful and courteous. The location was superb, close to the beach but secluded enough to relax.

“Tranqil stay”

Beautiful stay. Villa Shanthi is all about peace and tranquility. Only a delightful 10 minute stroll through palm trees and lovely lanes to get to the beach and a plethora of restaurants but you feel like you are secluded in the middle of nowhere. Highlights: - Spacious, colonial-style room with excellent AC, fan and hot water - Verena and her team were warm, hospitable and really go above and beyond. - Fantastic chef - Sri lankan curries and fish were delicious - Pool and garden area are sublime and filled with wildlife. I saw monkeys from my balcony - Safe and secure - I was a solo female and felt well looked after. I'll definitely be back

Loved Villa Shanthi. The best accommodation on our 3 week trip. What an amazing property.The manager and staff were so friendly and attentive. The breakfast was exceptional with 3 choices of English. Continental and Sri Lankan.We had the English which came with freshly home cooked bread and our first taste of real bacon. We also had the best rice and curry for our last dinner prepared and cooked by the on-site chef. The location is set in behind the hustle and bustle of the main road only 8 min to the beach.Nestled in wonderful kept tropical garden with an immaculately kept swimming pool which was the best we came across on our travels.The actual building is old English with the feeling of space and grandeur from the beautiful downstairs living areas with its beautiful chandeliers and art work to the massive undercover balcony outside the upstairs rooms. It was a pleasure staying here and will surely come back.
