Wow! It was perfect! Wonderful owner, the villa is done with great taste. Excellent housewife. clean, fresh, even better than in the pictures! our best experience on Sri. There was a slight problem getting into the car. It was difficult to turn around. but for a good driver this is not a big problem. So, thank you!

Overall property and its location surrounded by nature and wildlife, and in a lovely neighborhood, near everything. The staff was also extremely kind and generous.

Tranquil location just outside the main town. More like a SC apartment as there was a well equipped kitchen just for guest use. Requested a special dinner for a joint birthday meal and what we got was simply amazing. Saffina, the owner was always on hand if we needed anything and organised a couple of trips for us using local guys. Highly recommend.

Peaceful location only a short tuk tuk from the main area, lovely clean villa with helpful host. Very well equipped kitchen and nice little bar/cafe 2 min walk away.

About 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from town centre, which is a good thing. Quiet, and more like jungle vibe than town. Hostess has lived in Dubai and the States, and is refreshingly laid-back. Room has really nice balcony which you can sit on and a well thought out communal cooking and coffee area. Far more things provided for free than is usually the case, including filtered water, coffee, tea, milk, etc.

The whole villa is extremely stylish. The rooms are cosy and nice. Kitchen and cooking area clean and detailed. The cuttiest dog ever named Coco is very polite and gentle.

We stayed in Barefoot bungalow for 3 nights this week and there isn’t anything that we didn’t like about this place. Everything was outstanding as the owner Saffina has put her heart and soul to make your stay in Srilanka memorable. She had been exceptionally helpful by providing all the information needed including booking taxi / renting bikes which made our stay there really really easy and comfortable. Its hard to put our feelings in words about how thankful we were towards Saffina . Barefoot bungalow itself gives you very homely environment by providing you with every necessity and of course credit goes to Saffina. Its located in very peaceful environment where you will find yourself surrounded by nature and the cleanliness is on the top-notch. I would recommend this place to everyone and i cannot wait to go there again and spend more time in the bungalow.

Incredible stay with the best hospitality from the owners and staff. Located in a quiet area, not far from the city center of Hikkaduwa. Barefoot was definitely our best stay we’ve had since our 6 weeks round trip through Sri Lanka. Specious room, very clean, great shower, comfortable bed and extensive shared kitchen.

This hotel deserves a 100/10! Our stay here was absolutely amazing. The owners are incredibly kind, fantastic cooks, and have an exceptional eye for detail. They truly understand how to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example, our room was thoughtfully equipped with a Sri Lankan-style robe for the pool, beach towels, a designated makeup-removal towel, and even a face wash. Everything a girl could possibly need! The rice & curry we enjoyed (twice!) was among the best we had during our five weeks in Sri Lanka. And to top it all off, the hotel’s location is simply breathtaking with a beautiful view from the room and pool. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Outstanding and beautiful guest house with unbelievably helpful and friendly hosts! We loved every second of our stay at Barefoot Bungalo. The location is perfect…tucked away in the jungle overlooking a beautiful rice field marsh, but only 15 min walk to the huzzle and buzzle of Hikkaduwa and the beaches. The villa is beautifully designed with attention to detail and the rooms are super comfortable. We also very much enjoyed the pool overlooking the rice paddy. Our hosts, Saffina and Chuta went out of their way to make our stay super comfortable and enjoyable.

We had a very pleasant stay at this lovely accommodation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool is a nice place to relax. The chef can prepare very tasty meals on request. The location is peaceful, surrounded by greenery, and it’s a short tuk-tuk ride or about a 30-minute walk to Hikkaduwa Beach. The staff is super friendly and helpful. A great place to unwind!

“Excellent stay”

Overall my experience was exceptional. The villa's excellent design, attentive host, and stunning amenities made it a truly unforgettable stay. One of the highlights of the villa was its two spacious kitchens. They were equipped with everything to prepare meals. The villa also boasted a beautiful garden and an infinity pool. Saffina, was incredibly caring and welcoming. I can't wait to return!

This place felt like magic and it was easy to relax there. All the beautiful details around the building makes it unique and cozy. We enjoyed the nature around the villa and loved the peaceful vibe away from the big road. The pool was clean and fresh and the room was big and spacious with nice balcony.

“Magical Stay in Paradise!”

Beautiful well appointed establishment tucked in the jungle side next to the paddy fields. It was perfect- just 6 mins to the beach yet secluded away from the hustle and bustle. The design of the building is gorgeous. Very nice spacious rooms. The infinity pool overlooking the paddies is just divine. didn’t want to leave!
