We had such a good time. Everything from the service and especially the owner and the staff was amazing. We had a really lovely breakfast at the check out day. When we come back we will stay here again. Thank u guys for everything

“Authentic Sri Lankan hospitality Amazing value for money”

Well, we have been in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 5 weeks travelling and stayed in all different types of accommodation all over the country and all have been great in different ways’ but for us Alvas house has to be our favourite. The amazing host Susanne and Thushare and their wonderful assistant Sunny boy 🤗 I don’t normally score 10 on booking .com But I have this time the property is in a wonderful location the beach and restaurants shops are 2 minute walk the property is in a quiet road, you can hear the odd train go by but we loved that.The rooms are super clean with a really comfortable bed. Sunny boy made our bed each day which was a surprise as this never happened at any other place we stayed in. We had wonderful Sri Lankan breakfast made for us by Thushare and Sunny boy which we enjoyed whilst chatting and exchanging stories. Their advice for local places to eat and go was fantastic and really useful. If you love a burger go to Hello Burger on the main street it’s a must and 2 mins away from here 😋and if you’re up for a surf lesson just ask Thushare, he can recommend someone for you 🏄‍♂️ I would highly recommend this place if you are coming to Hikkaduwa, we loved it and Hikkaduwa was an amazing end to our time in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Thank you guys 🤗 Martyn & Jayne 🇬🇧

The rooms are spacious, clean and the hosts are just amazing. We had a really nice and comfortable stay here.

Most of all, the hosts were very warm and welcoming… and of course, Sunny 🌞. You’ll be greeted by his smiling face every day.

The location of Alvas house is fantastic. Close walking distance to the beach, good cafes and restaurants and the main surf break. The owners and Sunny are extremely accomodating and friendly, they made our stay a 10/10 experience. Would highly recommend to friends and family for any future stay at Hikkaduwa.

“Best accommodation in Hikkaduwa!”

Probably the best accommodation in Hikkaduwa! My fiance and I loved every minute. The swedish/Sri Lankan hosts are super nice and helpful. They invited us to a Sri Lankan Breakfast and a traditional curry - we loved it! They are both absolutely lovely people!!! It has european hygiene standards: everything is clean, there are towels in the bathroom, and they clean your room every day - that is super rare in Sri Lanka! They gave us a lot of recommendations about the area and took us to a local market! There are some nice bars and restaurants close by. All in all the best accommodation in Hikkaduwa by far! We would definitely come back!!!

It's an incredible place! The room was clean and comfortable, maintained daily. We were welcomed with cold coconut and the warmest smile I've ever seen. Hosts are very kind and caring, always looking out for you to make sure you're comfortable. The location is perfect for turtle watching and swimming, with lots of small shops and places to eat.

The location is very convenient. The beach outside here is suitable for surfing. Ten minutes' walk to the right is the turtle beach which suitable for snorkeling, there is also a big supermarket on the way. It takes another twenty minutes walk to a small fish and vegetable market. You can buy vegetables there and cook in the public kitchen on the second floor here .It's very convenient. But the best part was the owner Susan and Tushy! Thank you, Tushy who always smiles and Susan who is so warm-hearted. Thank you the unforgettable Friday night! You invited me and all the guests to have a big meal together and chat freely. It was such a happy time! I hope to have the chance to stay here again!

“Great accommodation with very friendly owners”

The accommodation is very centrally located and but also in a quiet side street. The beautifully furnished rooms, the green garden, the shared kitchen and the roof terrace immediately give you a wonderful feeling of being at home. Everything is super clean and is cleaned and aired daily. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. It quickly felt as if we had known them for years, as they really put so much heart into their work. We will definitely come back.

This little guesthouse is one of the warmest and friendliest places i have been. Rooms are spotless, wifi is excellent and location is good. But its the owners that really make you want to return. Thanks for making me feel welcome and at home and taking care of me when needed.

The property was central to where we wanted to be, if my sister had not have hurt her foot we could have walked to most places, but because she did all we had to do was walk outside and a tuk tuk was always available!

“A lovely stay”

Amazing amazing hosts. Really friendly and nice to have a chat with. Often gave us king coconuts whilst we were relaxing on the balcony. They tidied the room every day we stayed which was a nice surprise as I haven't seen that in any other place we stayed out during our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. Location is brilliant too, close to everything good

Absolutely amazing host. He was extremely caring and helpful. Everything was very clean. Great location, super close to the beach and many restaurants. I had a really great experience and will definitely be staying here again next time I come.
