Lovely house near the mountains. Very clean and cozy. All equipment you need to make a dinner/breakfast. As it is a gallery, beautiful pictures everywhere. Very easy to keep in touch with the owners, who helped us in all our questions.

- lovely location in a small forest on the way to Daisetsuzan NP, 10 minutes east of Higashikawa - Old rice barn with lots of character and lovely refurbishment - Very friendly hosts Mika and Osama made our stay very enjoyable and gave us a lot of tips what to see in the vicinity.

This was the most amazing, beautiful and cosy property we’ve ever stayed in. It had everything we needed and more and the host Mika and her husband were the kindest and most helpful and accommodating people. I couldn’t recommend staying here any higher and we already hope to return one day.

“Artistic retreat in the country side”

Great location (it’s just at the entrance of Asahidake); there’s a parking lot (drive way) in front of the house; The house is very well decorated and it gives a sense of well lived in it. Mika and Osamu San are both very nice and they are generous giving suggestions of what to do. They also have an onsite BBQ facility which you can request to use (extra charge) and it’s fantastic :)

The place was surrounded by serene nature and was filled with beautiful, intentionally created art pieces by Osamu and Mika. We had some troubles with our car and logistics, but they were excellent hosts and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was fruitful and memorable. Highly recommended for those with a love for nature and photography!

Very Beautiful place , very warm and friendly hosts. Spot on communication Clean and functional. Had all kitchen amenities etc for a comfortable stay Such lovely places close by to which the hots gave very nice recommendations and directions. Would love to be back .

“Very comfortable premises very different from anything else we have stayed in”

A beautiful converted rice store (I think) that is now a photo gallery (when there aren't any guests). A very different form of accommodation. Comfortable and clean, comfy beds, and our host was extremely interested and helpful with local advice and ideas. And you're surrounded by stunning photographs by the host's husband. The location is great if you have a car – would be difficult without. For us it was great to feel like we were well away from the usual tourist crowd, and very close to the national park.

“A hyggelig house”

Our stay at Gallery Stay Kitashajin, is simply one of the best experiences I have had in Japan. Got the warmest welcome anyone could ever dream of, and got help with dinner booking and plenty of suggestions on places to go. The house itself is as we say in Denmark, very hyggelig. You got all the facilities you need mixed with lovely photos, handcrafted baskets, and beautiful nature. Thank you Mika and Osamu for sharing this home of art, stories and hygge!
