Felt like home away from home, cozy and hospitable experience. Anna Marie and her husband are remarkably friendly hosts🙂 we loved our stay. Breakfast was delicious 👌🏽

Guest House is walking distance from the sea and restaurants. Very hearty breakfast and friendly service. Secure parking on the premisses. Huge, comfortable bed with good quality bedding.

Beautiful room with an extremely comfortable bed! Breakfast was excellent with great choices available. Dave and Ann-Marie were very friendly and helpful giving us loads of information about the area and thing to do.

“A wonderful guesthouse conveniently situated to enjoy Hermanus' many attractions!”

A lovely warm greeting from the house-keeper Doreen when we arrived plus the offer of a very welcome iced tea after a long drive set the tone for our visit. The Potting Shed is a very personable place to stay and a reflection of the personalities of the owners Annamarie and Dave. Our room, bathroom and pretty private outside courtyard were of the highest standard with a really comfortable bed and pillows and crisp fresh linen. The sizeable bathroom was well stocked with shampoo and soap and had a great shower - although we were aware of how precious water was here in SA so used the shower with care. Breakfast was varied, generous and tasty - hot and cold choices - and cooked fresh to our liking. Nothing seemed too much trouble for our hosts and their friendly and engaging staff. Lovely touches were filtered bottled water in our room and a choice of homemade infused water at breakfast. Bread was baked daily for the breakfast table - nice one! A 20 minute or so walk got you into Hermanus town during the day where there were so many places to eat and drink and shop. A cab back at night is advised but the area is very safe to walk around. We enjoyed Fusion down on the waterfront for food and drinks - very friendly. The chatty manager even organised a cab back for us. A morning walk along the new(wish) coastal path is a must. And if you do walk it you must stop for lunch at Dutchies beach bar and restaurant. Great setting and equally great food and drinks offering. You can join this path only a few minutes from the Potting Shed or in town. Doreen will tell you how to get there! Happy to recommend this homely, family guesthouse.

An excellent and informative welcome from host Annamarie. Lovely spacious and comfortable room with outside area. Good safe location with a short walk into town. Excellent breakfast choices. We only stayed one night, but are very happy to recommend.

“A little gem of a place, compact, peaceful and friendly.”

The welcome and friendliness of the husband and wife team was excellent. The accommodation, although modest, demonstrated good attention to detail, ensuring everything a traveller might need was on hand. Again, breakfast offered many options, including freshly cooked 'Full English' if required. Our room was on the smaller side, but there were larger ones available too, assumably at a higher rate. The pool area was small but welcome. Car parking 'tight' but safe and we would most certainly return.

What a beautiful guesthouse! We had a very comfortable two night stay here, the hosts Annamarie and Dave are very passionate about their business and it shows with the attention to details. The hospitality and breakfast was 10/10. The guesthouse is a short walk to the coast, and the lovely town. We hope to return again! Thank you.

We stayed in apartment above main house and enjoyed the outdoor decking and balcony area. Very close to all restaurants and amenities

The owners are very helpful. Check in and communication excellent, the room was spotless, comfortable beds and towels smelt great!! They were very accommodating when our plans changed. We stayed in 2 different rooms, the smaller rooms are perfect for a short stay, but it's worth upgrading to the larger rooms if you're staying a few nights. The rooms are big, and you get your own private outside seating area. Fabulous breakfast. We will be back

Our room was small and after cycling from jhb to hermanus the last thing you want is a small room but the biggest dussapointnent was the bathroom door which led right on the basin then you had to close the door to get to toilet which is really not worth saying its 4 star. No aircon and the fan could not cool us down on max. The fact that we had to pay upfront was the worst but now we know why. We will not be coming again its a pity we lost our usual accom. You were the 2nd most expensive place and parking was a huge dissapointment too. This cannot be considered a 4 star place...
