“This is our second stay we find it excellent two years ago hence our return stay this time”

The views were exceptional, the house was very comfortable and well kitted out, and we were entertained by a pair of blue cranes and their baby who recently adopted the garden. The hosts are extremely kind and helpful

“Unsurpassed”

What was not to like ? I want to mention just three outstanding features. The saltwater pool of 12m to do my laps each morning, with the sundeck with lounges for during the day. The outside open air living area, where we spent almost all our time, reading, relaxing, and dining next to the braai. And of course, enjoying the magnificent view over the Onrus river and the Babylon mountain range And why do I call it unsurpassed = better than any other : Derek and Shanon. They made us feel at home because they were neighbours, not just hosts.

Everything, location is stunning. It’s well equipped and comfortable with everything you need. Derek the host was always on hand for any questions and we left feeling like friends. Wonderful stay.

Peter and I had an amazing and relaxing time at the Guardian. It’s such a beautiful place and so tranquil. A fabulous spot . The pool is wonderful -we used it every day. Our hosts Sharon and Derek were the very best - suggesting places to visit nearby to eat and experience.

Beautiful accommodation in the most incredible valley. Wonderfully hospitable hosts who have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. An added bonus is the gorgeous private garden to sit in while soaking in the mountain views.

“Beautiful style and luxury in a magical valley”

What a fantastic property - beautifully decorated, immaculate, clean and very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything (3 different ways to make coffee and even a Japanese tea kettle - I definately want one now!). Really comfortable huge beds, great shower, 2 bathroom sinks, an outdoor braai and amazing verandah with the most wonderful view. Oh and I didn't mention the gorgeous swimming pool too. The owners were really helpful and were around if you needed any help but discreet enough so that you were private at the house. It is a 20 minute drive into Hermanus so easy to get to restaurants, supermarkets, shops etc. Also close to 2 good golf courses. There is so much wildlife to spot from the verandah - Buzzards, Cape sugar birds, we listened to the call of a spotted eagle owl too. Hard to read a book because the view is so magical you can't tear your eyes away from it for long. We never managed to visit any of the wine estates that are so close by so that's another good reason to return. Thank you Derek and Sharon - we will be back.
