Situated directly on the banks of the Neckar River, this hostel in Heidelberg offers a 24-hour front desk, a sun terrace and a bar. Heidelberg Zoo is just 150 metres away. “Really good value YHA style Hotel 45mins walk from central Heidelberg. (There is a zoo next door!)”
Useful low cost modern and clean Yoth Hostel style Hotel. Everythnig was basic, functional and spotlessly clean. No frills, a simple bed, a good shower, two chairs and a small table comprised the rooms - rather like a University Hall of residence room. Breakfast was self-serve, with a good range of cereals, breads, rolls, fruit, meats and cheeses, plus the usual drinks. The whole place was DiY - strip your own beds, clean up after yourself, clear you own table etc. but it worked really well. And the price was very competetive (IMHO) for Heidelberg.

The staff were universally friendly and helpful. The location was ideal, and good shower heat and pressure.

Waking up to the sound of elephants. :-) Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast (included). Free parking. Bus stop close by (although I didn't use it).
