Overview
This family-run hotel and restaurant is located directly on the marketplace in the Old Town, and makes the perfect starting point for sightseeing. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. Home to the Holy Spirit Church and the town hall, the marketplace marks the start of a long pedestrian zone lined with restaurants, outdoor cafes and shops. Many of the city’s sights can be explored on foot from here, including the Old Bridge, the River Neckar, the university and Heidelberg Castle. The nearby mountain railway takes you to the castle or the top of the Königstuhl mountain, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and surrounding landscape. Local buses take you comfortably to the main railway station, the city zoo and various other locations.

Good location along Hauptstrasse (the main street where many bars and restaurants are) and in walking distance of everything else we wanted to see. Good breakfast. A room with windows on two sides which made it light, it also had a table. We faced one of the squares where there are tables out for people to eat and drink and were worried it might be noisy. The windows were open as it was warm. However we got to sleep pretty easily and were not woken early in the morning by noise from outside. The hotel has it's own restaurant which serves lunch and dinner.

“Cute little hotel.”
Staff really nice and friendly. We got our room two hours before the time to check in no extra cost. Dinner was amazing. Location perfect close to everything.

The Goldener Falke hotel is a beautiful and great option if you want to stay in the center of Heidelberg. The staff was super nice, the room beautiful and very clean, and even if it's located in a busy area, it's not noisy at all. The beds were also very comfortable. 10/10 experience, I would repeat.

“Amazing stay with lovely friendly staff in a perfect location.”
The location of the hotel was 10/10. We literally stepped out of the hotel into a Christmas market which was very special. The beds were incredibly comfortable - the rooms would benefit from a little decor upgrade but they were clean and comfortable. Our only criticism was the floor was not level in the room. It's as if there is a bit of subsidence. The breakfast was divine and kept us full until dinner time. Lots of choice and buffet style which is lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Superb location in the Altstadt and close to the university. In the midst as well of the Christmas market. The restaurant is also very good.
