“Amazing farm stay. Quiet, beautiful, friendly and tasty.”

Beautiful location with wide views over the farm. Comfy bungalows to stay in. Cozy dinner that tasted amazing. Great stargazing out on the lawn and highly recommend the fun farm tour in the morning. Breakfast was also good. We only stayed one night, should’ve stayed at least two but at least we made the most of it.

Everything was perfect. A full experience. One of a kind.

“Serene, peaceful and beautiful”

It’s a serene place, far enough from any other building but close enough to Heidelberg. A perfect stop between Cape Town and George or Knysna. It’s a working farm but without bad smells. One can se ostriches, guinea fowls and other animals. Breakfast was huge and on the last day the owner let me take a sandwich for my trip. I bought dinner for kids and the portion was big enough. It’s a really beautiful place and worth staying longer than just as a sleepover.

“Skeiding - Afrikaans for Heaven on earth...”

Ten days into our Garden Route road trip and we were ready for a bit of R&R and we couldn't have picked a better place to rest and recharge than Skeiding. From the moment we left the main road and set on the track to the farm we felt our shoulders relax. Skeiding is in an idyllic setting up on the plains and is a beautiful collection of farm buildings surrounded by whispering trees and stunning scenery. We had arrived a bit early and as our cottage wasn't quite ready we were shown around the main building and offered a drink to take out onto the terrace where the pool was situated and the views were stunning. The whole place exuded relaxation. So we sat a bit, helped ourselves to another drink from the well-stocked and inexpensive "Honesty Bar" and exhaled as we waited for our room to be ready. We stayed in one of the cottages in the grounds. It was spacious, with a big outside terrace to chill on, looking out to the mountains beyond. The cottage has a lovely rustic charm (no Travertine and gleaming chrome here) was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for our two-day stay. The bed was super-comfy as were the pillows and the linen was crisp and fresh. Our breakfasts and evening meals were among the best we'd had on our trip to date. A choice of hot and cold breakfast with all the trimmings was on offer, cooked to order, served in the well-appointed dining room, again with views to die for and a convivial atmosphere that made chatting to other guests so easy. Our dinner (I had steak one night and Ostrich the next) was beautifully cooked to our liking over the open fire. I could go on waxing lyrical but you get my drift. This place is magical and can cast a spell over you. Force yourself to get up early and go on the tour of the farm and see the ostriches (naturally) and also zebra and springbok roaming free. All the staff and managers we met were engaging and genuinely friendly - nothing was too much trouble.

“Perfect family stay in a scenic location with amazing food”

We (family with 2.5-year-old toddler) spent one night as a stop over. The Skeiding Guest Farm exceeded our expectations in many ways, and we would have loved to stay a bit longer. Highly recommended! What we especially loved: - amazing food (dinner and breakfast - the best we had on our whole trip; many choices and a lot of home made products) - Very friendly and attentive hosts who made us feel truly welcome - Spacious and spotless cottages with great view over the landscape - Very well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay - Tastefully and cozy furnished - Smooth and hassle-free check-in process - nice community pool + terrasse - playground + ostrich farm tour + pool are perfect for children's entertainment

“The best experience of my life”

Firstly would like to say that Evert and Jeanine were very welcoming and helpful. We were a large group and they have made sure we were all accommodated well and looked after. The Farm was incredible with lovely pool area just outside the bar and restaurant part. We have had a verity of evening meals and the breakfast was also tasty, with a verity of cheeses chutney, full breakfast with Ostritch egg, bacon and other tasty ingredients. The highlight of my stay was a morning trip to the farm, feeding the ostriches and visiting all the animals.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The breakfast was one of the best we experienced during our time in South Africa. Dinner was a lovely experience…enjoyed watching it being cooked on the open fire and it was cooked to perfection! The farm tour was informative and fun!

Great Value for the money! Hosts were very nice and welcoming. the food (breakfast and dinner) were amazing! Our cottage had everything you need. Also a private braai area. Everything was very clean. We only stayed one night, I think two nights would have been better to also try the prebooked braai package. Thanks for having us.
