“A blissful retreat”

We stayed at Honeybird cottage. It was very thoughtfully designed with fabulous views over endless hills. The cottage was very well stocked with quality kitchen and braai equipment and furniture. There was an indoor log burner for colder nights and a full size fridge. Bed was very comfortable with nice linen, and the bath was just heavenly next to the window looking out on the views. There was aircon albeit it turned off late afternoon as the cottage uses a solar battery. There was a ceiling fan in the bedroom which helped. It was also easy to park outside the cottage. No shade for the car so remember your windscreen sun guard. Wifi worked well.

An amazing stay for couples that want to spend a special weekend away, all spotlessly clean, an amazing peaceful view and comforts of home. We loved the peace and quiet. The host made it special with such attention to detail and was very friendly to answer any questions. Thank you Aviary Hills!

The facilities were great, it has everything you can ask for, it's very neat and nicely done and also clean. It was also nice to have WiFi so we could work from there if needed. The views are amazing and it's nicely private.

Aviary Hills is remote and is surrounded with vast beautiful landscape. It is quiet and content. Beautiful attention to detail to the interior. We didn’t want to leave the beautiful space.

Everything. Our stay at Aviary Hills Cabin was absolutely perfect and magical. What we loved the most was the quiet, the mountain views from the bedroom and the deck, the hot tub and hammock. It is truly one of the best luxury cabins which has solar power, gas stove, fireplace, outdoor braai, outdoor and indoor shower. Fully equipped with more than what you need and you just get the sense that everything is well thought out with love and care. This was truly the best honeymoon experienced myself and my wife could have asked for. The hosts Cecilia and husband are absolutely wonderful and helpful and really want guests to have the best time ever. Thanks so much Aviary Hills.

Let me start by saying: if you’re looking for a place to fully unwind, switch off, and live your best robe-optional life—this is it. The drive there is a scenic dream, with just enough off-road adventure to feel like you’re leaving the world behind (without actually getting lost or needing a 4x4 and a sherpa). Every single facility worked perfectly. And I mean perfectly. Hot water? Flowing. Hot tub? Bubbling. Braai? Ready for fire-master action. WiFi? Strong enough to pretend you’re working remotely while you’re actually in the tub watching birds. Zero technical glitches, which is rare in such remote hideaways—but this one nailed it. The peaceful, secluded location is an absolute dream. Nature is everywhere—from the symphony of birds to the occasional curious spider or bug who clearly just wants to vibe and not bother you. It’s wild in the best way, and somehow, nothing feels intrusive. The sleeping setup and all the loungey, nap-worthy furniture were chef’s kiss levels of comfort. You could basically rotate between sleeping, eating, soaking, and staring at the view like it’s a meditation app come to life. Speaking of soaking: yes, we were gloriously, joyfully, clothing-optional for most of the stay. The outdoor shower and hot tub make for a liberating experience you didn’t know you needed until you’re out there, naked under the stars, wondering why pants were ever invented. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. I felt like I had been let in on a secret—like the world could wait a little longer while I kept sipping wine in the wilderness, completely content. If you’re thinking about booking, do it. Then prepare to not want to return to civilisation!

We had a wonderfully peaceful and reenergising 2-night stay at the Hideaway which offered the never-ending views, well stocked kitchen, kolkol pool and very comfortable and cosy bedroom. We would’ve liked to have seen more bird life but it seemed they were also chilling elsewhere! Thx Cecilia for the moments made. We’ll be back!

“Luxury stay in the mountains”

Attention to detail, such a well designed cottage. The indoor shower that led to the outdoor shower was amazing. True luxury, well equipped kitchen, off the grid was truly a blessing (no loadshedding). The cottage has a TV, but the outdoor areas are so well designed around the house that we spend all the time we had outdoors enjoying nature and the night skies.

The breathtaking mountain views and the peaceful, isolated setting allowed us to completely unwind and disconnect from the busyness of everyday life. It was the perfect place to recharge! One of the highlights was the amazing hot tub, where we soaked in the warm water while taking in the stunning surroundings. The hanging mat was another special touch – lying there at night, gazing at the stars, was an unforgettable experience. This is truly a hidden gem, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat. We can’t wait to return! 🌟🏡💆‍♂️💆‍♀️

The views all around us were really awesome. Lots of care went into the cottage, and the rusks plus extra bottled water, made us feel cared for as well. We asked for extra blankets and also received those. It's really special and a wonderful experience.

I anticipated it to be a great getaway but it still managed to exceed my expectations. The views was breathtaking and I loved every moment of Tranquillity. The hosts did a spectacular job 👏

The Cabin was beautifully decorated & Cosy for a couple, The was also a nice room fragrance smelling good, Cabin was nicely warm, everything is as advertised shower inside & outside of the Cabin which gives you all the expirience of a beautiful stay a nice Cozy fire place I loved everything about the place waking up to an out most beautiful view Gorgeous indeed!!! ❤️❤️❤️💖💖💕💕Def a place for lovers... The peaceful nature yes Def a place to be and amazing persona from Cecilia I wish I could have met her in person.
