Overview
Ashbourne bed and breakfast is located in Hazyview, a 20-minute drive from the entrance to Kruger National Park. Overlooking the Sabi River Valley, it is surrounded by lush gardens and a swimming pool with sun terrace. Each cottage or suite mixes quality bed linens with individually styled décor such as a 4-poster bed with mosquito net or antique furniture. Some have a separate seating area or a fully equipped country-style kitchen. A daily buffet breakfast with fresh local products is served in the dining room. Ashbourne Hazyview is situated within a 3-minute drive from several restaurants in either direction of the R356 regional road. Packed lunches can be organised for local excursions booked at Ashbourne’s tour desk. Guests can explore nearby towns such as Sabie or Graskop, both under 40 minutes’ drive by car. There is a library on site, while cycling and hiking are other activities to be enjoyed in the surrounding area. Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and Mac-Mac Falls are less than 51 km away.

Very Quirky Lodge in a lovely location. Loved being in the forest and spotted two gorgeous bush shrikes on a morning walk. Nice vista, very friendly staff and helpful with respect to access to the Kruger Park and the environment. Breakfast was lovely and simple.

“Uninterrupted views of rolling hills, stone cottages: charming elegance and comfort”
The layout of the suites and chalets are sheltered from developments - no light disturbance from Sabie or Hazyview. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and endless views of the rolling hills and mountains. Quiet and undisturbed. The cottage (9) is equipped with literally everything you can think of and need - even a gas oven. Loved the separate little sun room, reading room, all in white. Long stay is so tempting! Beautiful infinity pool in front of breakfast verandah, with inside the indoor grandeur from centuries past with solid furniture mixed with modern decor. Cottages have their own plunge pools - wonderful. Constance in the kitchen has a knack for cooking and a 3 course meal of that quality under R400 will be hard to find. Wonderful to find Newton Johnstone wines available on the wine list! Wonderfully peaceful stay. Thank you Rob!

“The place is as charming as its people!”
What a beautiful, calm and soothing place. Everyone made sure we were warmly welcomed. The food was amazing and we were very well supported in the organization of our activities. You can easily do a day safari in Kruger. Last but not least, make sure to arrive in time for a spectacular sundowner!

“Pure paradise!”
Where do I begin? It’s just perfect in every way. From the moment you arrive, Joan is there to greet you and instantly makes you feel at home. The whole place has such a tranquil, relaxing atmosphere - with stunning views and the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset by the fire and honesty bar. Pure paradise. Dinner was absolute perfection and felt so intimate. One evening, when the weather turned a little chilly, we ate inside by the fire - it was so cosy. Joan goes out of her way to chat with every table, offering great recommendations or simply sharing a lovely conversation. Charles was always so happy to see you and a friendly face. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of great options. I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough. We loved it so much that we came back again at the end of our trip!

The owner gave us incredible helpful advice about Kruger Park, the breakfast pack (due to our early departure) was the best we had in South Africa and the views combined with the honesty bar made for gorgeous evening aperitifs!
