“A special home from home”
I really enjoyed my stay at Waluawa on the Hill. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and felt at home. It was a home from home. Chinthaka was an incredible host and an amazing cook! He made delicious curries and when I shared that my favourite Sri Lankan breakfast is pol rotti, pol sambol & Dahl........that's what he made. It was the best brekkie I had in my month in Sri Lanka. One day, I asked if I could have dosai for dinner. Nadesh made the dosai and that was a delicious meal too. I will definitely return to Walauwa on the Hill recommend this haven to friends 💚

The guest house was in a decent location, but access across the railway was a bit of a challenge for the van driver. The staff were very polite and the rooms were spacious with en-suite bathrooms.

Everything about our stay here was exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the owner and staff made us feel so welcome, going above and beyond to make our visit truly special. They were incredibly attentive and always ready to help with anything we needed. And the food…..wow! Some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. From the authentic breakfasts to the mouthwatering dinners, every meal was an absolute treat. The building itself is breathtaking, with so much history and charm. Staying here was a highlight of our trip, and we’re so glad we chose this incredible place. If you’re in Hatton and looking for a memorable stay, we couldn’t recommend it more highly! Thank you for everything, and if we ever come back to Sri Lanka, we will 100% stay here again!

“Great place, great staff and very welcoming”
A great place to stay in Hatton! The staff are unbelievable nice and made sure I was comfortable at all times. The owner drove me himself to the bottom of Adams Peak, and the chef made amazing food 😊 Loved drinking chai masala on the balcony with my book in the sun.

Wonderfully restored colonial house within easy walking distance of Hatton Station. Surprisingly tranquil considering the central location. Very welcoming host and authentic Sri Lankan menu for dinner and breakfast.
