What an experience. The area is not too touristic and you are surrounded by tea plantations, which was a highlight of our journey. You feel so well taken care of. The staff is constantly around and fulfil every need you have. They are so nice and try to make your stay unforgettable. The rooms are beautiful & the bathroom newly renovated. Food is amazing as well, and fairly priced.

“An absolute joy of a stay.”
This is real Sri Lanka. Off the tourist trail but right on the Pekoe trail. Our hosts could not have looked after us better. We ate really well and they helped us plan our trip. It is a gem of a find. They arranged our e biking through the tea estates which, along with walking stage 8 of the Speke trail, a highlight. We plan to return. This is where we love to be.

“Authentic planters bungalow in great location for walkers”
A real colonial planters bungalow experience! Very simple but very authentic. Well tended garden. Surrounded by tea estates it feels very rural. It is roughly 15 minute walk to Norwood village with a few local shops. Minutes from the Pekoe trail - end of stage 7 (glorious walk through tea estates and friendly villages) and the start of stage 8. Dinners were enjoyable.

The Bungalow is set in a beautiful garden and is a truly magnificent place, The rooms are very large, spotless clean. The bathrooms are newly renovated, spotless clean and very spacious. Lisha and Ruben who are running the place are so friendly, gave us great tips and nothing was a problem. Breakfast and dinners were so delicious and very good value for money. The dinner order is taking in the morning, which is great as all the food is freshly prepared and the vegetables are coming for the surrounding farms. A must do is the Tea Tour, which you can book through the hotel. Rimas who is doing the tour is so knowledgeable and explained everything so well. Really well worse the time and money. We did 2 sections of the Pekoe trail, 7 and 8, for which the hotel is perfectly located. We had an amazing stay and hope to be back one day 🤩

“Charming and authentic plantation bungalow in the heart of a working tea plantation - highly recommended”
There is real charm to the slightly faded grandeur of this 140 year old plantation bungalow. It is homely and comfortable, the staff fantastic and the food amongst the best we have had in Sri Lanka. Set in a real working tea plantation, I also recommend doing the local Tea Trails Tour - much more authentic than the big tourist traps.

“Wonderful”
Beautiful authentic colonial tea bungalow in the middle of tea plantations. Not a lot of rooms, so it feels very exclusive. Amazing garden, quiet & peaceful location. Lisha and his staff are very friendly and fulfill every whish. Great communication. Absolutely delicious food - we ate there every evening and recommend you do the same. Lisha booked the tea tour for us with Rimaz which was great and very informative. If you love hiking and beautiful nature, this is for you.

“It was a pleasure and a privilege to stay here.”
We spent three nights at this wonderful bungalow and it was honestly the best part of our trip. Ruben and Lisha are great hosts who made us feel very comfortable, organized trips and transportation for us and answered any questions we had. The Indian and Sri Lankan meals prepared by Ramakrishnan were among the tastiest we had. The house itself is a historical artifact that is filled with lovely details and surrounded by a peaceful garden. During our stay one of the rooms was being renovated but there was hardly any noise. There are some amazing trails starting right on the bungalow’s doorstep. We will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for peace and quiet while still enjoying an active holiday, this is the perfect place. The house itself is truly special, with a beautifully preserved colonial-era tea plantation bungalow style. The service was exceptional, there are no silly questions here, only kind solutions. Everyone was incredibly helpful, and for me it was especially important that clean, filtered drinking water was available. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the property and were very satisfied with every meal. The bathroom was freshly renovated and always shower had hot water. For active travelers, Ruban organized an unforgettable 25 km e-bike tour through tea plantations and local villages - highly recommended for anyone who wants to see real Sri Lanka up close. The accommodation can also help arrange a hike to Adam’s Peak and it’s an experience I highly recommend - the sunrise from the summit is absolutely unforgettable. This place is also an ideal base for Pekoe Trail stage 8, offering stunning views and rewarding hikes through tea estates and villages. Sri Lanka is so much more than beach cafés and air-conditioned hotels - to understand local life, you need to stay close to it.

Amazing location between tea plantations. Real historical building with photos and stuff. Big breakfast. Good bed with mosquito nets and electronic repellent device. Many tours can be done from here. Last part of the access road is a bit bumpy so dont be scared :)

“The perfect stay among beautiful tea plantations”
I had an amazing two nights stay at the Royal Majesty Bungalow. The location could not be better, surrounded by the beautiful tea plantation - I would consider this area the most beautiful I've seen in Sri Lanka. The rooms are clean, big and comfortable and the bathroom was very nice and newly renovated. The food at the bungalow was also excellent, as they buy everything fresh based on your requests. The staff will gladly help out in arranging tours in the area, which made exploring the beautiful surroundings so much easier. I did a very interesting tea plantation tour, a beautiful 25km e-bike tour through villages and tea plantations, and kayaking at the reservoair - all of which were brilliant and I can highly recommend them all. Lastly I want to send a huge thank you to Desmond, Lishan and Ruben for their great hospitality and for making me feel at home. Your friendliness and great customer service is what makes the bungalow so special. I will definitely stay here again the next time I come to Sri Lanka. See you then! :)

“Beautiful haven”
The property is a beautiful house situated in the hills surrounded by tea estates. Ruben and Desmond made us feel at home. Nothing was too difficult for them. We received excellent service with a smile. They were generous with their time and information. They were well informed of all the activities and everything was planned in great detail. The home always very clean and tidy. The chef provided excellent food. Made some excellent meals for us. We want to thank the team at Royal Majesty for their generosity.

“A royal stay”
This is a very special place. A beautiful heritage bungalow on a working tea plantation. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had a simple room in keeping with the location. Food was available and delicious. Thank you! The tea tour we took from the bungalow was excellent. I would highly recommend this walk through the plantation and history talk. Followed by a tuc tuc ride and tour inside a working tea factory. A very informative afternoon learning about the full journey from plant to cup and the hard work involved.
