“A Peaceful Stay in the Middle of the Tea Plantations”

This was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places during our Sri Lanka trip. Surrounded by beautiful tea plantations, the location offered breathtaking views, especially during sunrise when the mist moved through the hills. The family atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, and we always felt very well taken care of. The hosts were extremely helpful in organizing excursions and even arranged a tuk tuk in the middle of the night for our Adam’s Peak hike. A true highlight — besides the hospitality — was the amazing authentic Sri Lankan food. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, varied and freshly prepared every day. We especially appreciated that they thoughtfully adapted some dishes for our children, who could not eat very spicy food. A wonderful place to experience the beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country together with genuine hospitality.

One of our best stays in asia. The whole family made us feel so welcome and took care of us. The room's are super clean and comf. Location is awesome as you are literally on top of dickoya which is nice to watch sunrise from balcony. However the highlight is the food. Make sure you take the breakfast and curry. Its just incredible. Nothing more than recommendable!

Perfect doesn’t even begin to capture how special this place is. The views from the bedrooms are absolutely stunning… each morning greets you with a breathtaking sunrise over mist-covered mountains. What truly sets this stay apart, though, is the exceptional hospitality of the hosts, Saman and Semila. They are incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Semila’s freshly prepared meals are delicious, and enjoying them on the spacious balcony with such a beautiful view made every meal memorable. We never felt the need to dine anywhere else. We stayed for two nights during the Avurudu holiday, and they went above and beyond by preparing a lovely traditional Avurudu table, which was a wonderful and thoughtful touch.

Location, the owners and the food! Family-run guesthouse, sweetest people we’ve met in Sri Lanka. Attentive, caring, welcoming - we have made good friendships with the owner and his wife. Wholesome experience I would 100% do again.

Incredible experience Saman and Semila (and their team) are incredibly genuine and welcoming people The Princess is a beautiful calm oasis to relax and enjoy the views of nature. Semila and Saman provide beautiful meals - the special lamprais was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka Saman is full of ideas for activities to suit anyone, organised tours and transfers, and even set us up with drinks and snacks to watch the cricket final (although sadly not New Zealands best effort) You will not regret spending time here - we stayed 5 nights

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast and dinner was also delicious. From our balcony you had a nice view over the area. Our room was clean and comfortable.

We had a very pleasant two-night stay here. A lovely family is running the place, ready to help you out with all your needs. We stayed in the upper rooms with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. Fantastic breakfast was served each morning and we also had our dinners here that you order from their menu before you leave for your daily adventures. The lady of the house is an amazing chef! All in all, we loved our stay here and are already planning to return next year!

Owners could not have been friendly or more helpful. They clearly took a lot of pride in their homestay and ensured the service was exceptional.

The property was in Dickey’s so very handy for stages 6 and 7 of Pekoe Trail. The owner was lovely and very obliging, Sémilla his wife was lovely. Met all the family. Food was good.

- Beautiful natural scenery - Good prices for double rooms - Very friendly owners. - Very good service, the owner arranged a taxi for us from Negombo. He gave us tips on excursions; among other things, we visited a nearby tea factory.

“Great homestay, and very good base to explore the tea plantations area”

The homestay was worth the steep hill to get up to it. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, the shower worked, the balcony was great for relaxing, with a beautiful view, and the WiFi worked. The roof top restaurant was a plus, albeit too sunny for us for breakfast. Saman was a fixer and able to deal with the varied queries of his guests, and everybody was nice and welcoming.

We had a perfect stay at lovely Princess of Dickoya! From the first moment we felt at home due to the warm welcome of Semila and Saman, our hosts. They were not only extremely friendly, but Saman was also very helpful in any way, e.g. in organizing trips like bike rides, excursion to Adam‘s peak, taxi ride, etc. And the food was delicious, breakfast as well as dinner! Selima is a great cook! All in all a most pleasant stay! Absolut recommendation!!! Thanks a lot!

Amazing guesthouse in a beautiful location in the hills overlooking the tea plantations. We stayed in a gorgeous, huge, clean cabana with a lovely balcony. The staff looked after us well and helped us with all our heavy bags. Breakfast was exceptional. They helped us organise canoeing on the nearby reservoir.

Beds were incredibly comfortable, room was well equipped with a fan and bug net. The outdoor balcony was delightful. The food was just out of the world. I can’t recommend it enough and our hostess really tailored meals to us. Come hungry! Everyone was super friendly and not pushy at all. They upgraded our room for free and were so kind the entire time. Great value for money and I would definitely stay again.
