The staff were really good and went out of their way to help. The hotels location overlooks tea plantations and is a nice area for hiking.

Location was good, the room was okay and the place was peaceful.

A great place to stay in Hatton. It is out of the centre, so it's nice and quiet and has remarkable views. You can either walk (about 20 min) or take a tuktuk. The hosts are friendly. The breakfast can be made vegan upon request and I think they can make a dinner as well. My room had a balcony (i got a free upgrade as there were no other people at the time), hot water and a really comfortable bed. There are some great common areas as well. This was really a highlight of my trip within this price category.

Perfect location to go to Adam’s Peak and see a plentitude of tea plantations. Amazingly helpful l and fun staff and they made us great food.

Hotel is located up a hill in Hatton. It's a good spot for hikers on the Pekoe Trail, as it can be easily reached during stage 7 (which bypasses Hatton, but the hotel is very close to the trail). Hosts were very friendly and prepared great breakfast. Very clean, including the washrooms.

Amazing property, amazing rooftop, amazing evening atmosphere. I stayed there before my climb to Adams Peak and Matthew, who took care of me, was genuinely exceptional. I booked for 2 days but then I realised I should have moved to my next destination as theres not much to do in Hatton itself. I told Matthew and he organised everything with a smile. My personal guide was also stayed with me and Matthew organised everything free for him including breakfast. In the evening, we were having some drinks and damm! The lobby on the second floor was literally a vintage colonial vibe!! Perfect for a calm evening to enjoy your drink. He prepared some munchies for us as well. Breakfast was amazing, specially the tea. And I was super hungry after my hike so Matthew prepared it on time. Just had my shower and food was ready! A huge shoutout to him, thanks Matthew for your super Sri Lankan hospitality!

The staff was great and helpful. We even got yummy tea several times, which we enjoyed a lot! There was a big sitting area with comfortable chairs where we could play cards or watch TV. The hotel was located quite uphill but near the pekoe trail (7th trail) and only 15 min from the train station.

Taking 2 triple rooms and a double room at Hotel Mount Castle was the best decision we ever made. The rooms were exceptionally clean with unsoiled linen and the bathrooms spacious with a heavy flow of water and hot water available at any given time. Mathew and his wife were absolutely helpful, caring about our every need and going out of their way to accommodate our requirements. The meals were very delicious with good serving portions. The ambience in the sitting area was so homely. We loved every aspect of our stay here. And we are surely coming again!

I had an excellent stay! The place was clean and the meals were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. For the quality of service and comfort, it was very reasonable for the price. The staff were incredibly friendly and always available whenever I needed anything, which made me feel truly welcomed. The location is—right on top of Hatton center. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!

“Wonderful”

Uma and his wife were amazing hosts!! Nothing was an issue and they were very helpful with anything we needed. We felt more at home than in a hotel. We loved it. The room was big and the balcony was a plus. Food was outstanding, proper home made and tea and coffee pots where the highlight The views from the balconies are so nice and peaceful and the whole property has a special aura to it.

Nice hotel. But the access road is not good

“Careful with directions”

Be careful with directions, maps.me send me to other side of the town. From train station go to the right and fallow signs or just take tuk tuk. It's a proper hotel. Clean, big TV with netflix in shared area and smaller TV in the room. If you are light sleeper take a room on the side of the entrance, mine budget room was on opposite side and I could hear water pump all the time. Apart of that inconvenience it was a really good stay especially for 15 usd with breakfast included and filtered water.
