Lovely and very helpful family, collected us in a tuk tuk from the train station free of charge. Hired us a scooter for the day at a good cost. Very nice and big breakfast. Organised a cheap tuk tuk to take us back to the station. The location is an easy downhill walk into town (although google maps was inaccurate at times). The walk back up the hill wasn't too hard but bring a torch if it's after dark.

The Homeaway Homestay was a very nice place to stay at! Our hosts were very kind, they served us the best black tea, and in the morning we got a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast! The room was large and tidy. They even brought us to the train station the day after to catch an early train! Would recommend!

I loved this place! It has been one of my favorites during my trip in Sri Lanka! Nilu and Rucki are amazing hosts and they made sure I had a great stay in Hatton. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and you also have your own space in the garden to relax. The whole family is absolutely lovely, the food was very good (big portions) and they also helped me do my laundry. Nilu has been most helpful during my whole stay and I had a great time chatting with her! Rucki also drove me around the countryside areas around Hatton, which was amazing. They also picked me up and sent me back to the railway station at the beginning and at the end of my stay. I would absolutely stay here again! Hatton is a great base to visit the area near Adam’s Peak. It is a small, non-touristy local town with great scenery, tea fields, waterfalls, rice paddies, mountain views, Tamil villages and temples. It gives you a much more authentic experience than staying in Ella, so I would absolutely recommend a stop in Hatton on the way to Kandy or Ella!

We had an incredible time! They prepared the most amazing food for us. During our stay they arranged multiple tours for us to all the places we wanted to see for fair prices. They made us feel like home. We would highly recommend staying here!

This homestay has the most warm and beautiful owners. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Calm, quiet and a little bit away from the buzzing city ambience. Very close to the tea plantations as well.

Everything was great, we loved it so much. Thanks to the homestay my friend and I had a very authentic Sri Lankan experience with a lovely family. We were picked up at the railway station by Ruki, who was waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast was the best food I have had so far in Sri Lanka (thanks to Nilu's cooking skills). We took a tour to all the viewpoints in Hatton offered by Ruki in his tuktuk and it is the best you can do when in Hatton. Also he took us to the Adam's peak at night at 01:00 am and waited for us while we were hiking up and down (6 hours!) and took us back to Hatton, on the way we stopped at various beautiful sights/viewpoints. The room was clean and the garden of the house is beautiful. Nilu and Ruki are lovely people, so warm and welcoming! Thanks for everything ♥️

Amazing couple running this place. Ruki and Nilu are fantastic people, speak good English, will do everything to make your stay as memorable as they can. They cook very good local food (amazing). Ruki can take you everywhere you need around Hatton with his tuk tuk (middle of the night ride to Adam’s Peak trail, visit tea factory, waterfall view points, rafting, etc.). Everything with a reasonable price. If you want to experience true Sri Lankan hospitality - book this place. The place is not straight at the city center, but it doesn’t matter, you still have to take a ride to visit places around town.

Great family run homestay, that really makes you feel welcome in their home. We ordered dinner on top of breakfast and both were deliciously prepared by the owners wife. The best part for us was the 1 day tour that the host took us on for a very good price, we saw almost everything there is to see in Hatton the tea factory, tea fields, water falls,... The owner even went with us into the factory as there was no other guide that spoke english there, so he translated for us. All in all a wonderful experience which i would gladly recommend to anyone wanting to experience true Sri Lanka. Oh yea and he gave me a brief Tuk Tuk lesson which made the trip for me.
