“Exceptional hotel”

Made very welcome from the moment we arrived to leaving. We ate in the bistro which was exceptional and attention to detail with both wine and food excellent. A real hidden gem.

My goodness, what an exceptional hotel and restaurant! Traditional on the outside, the interior decor was very stylish and modern, with great lighting and art - and very friendly staff. The room was spacious with a great bathroom/shower and unexpected gifts inside - a traditional homebaked Basque cake, complimentary drinks in the fridge and a wonderful selection of tealeaves (cups with strainers) and a coffee machine. A really lovely welcome. But then came the most amazing bit - the evening meal! We were on a road trip and didn't want to splash out on the Michelin star restaurant so chose to eat in the Bistro. It was honestly the best meal I've ever eaten - and at a very reasonable price. Three courses, two options for each. And every one spectacular. Also a very nice white wine served with it. In the morning, breakfast was served in the main restaurant so we were able to watch the chef preparing our food. He was very friendly and chatted to us. He made the best scrambled egg ever! Was asked if he'd make us some sandwiches to take on the road with us - which he did. And guess what - they were delicious with homemade bread! I wish we lived locally, we'd eat here all the time! In the morning, we also wandered into the town and the farmers' market. It was a mixture of food - fresh and cooked - and gifts. Fun to soak up the local atmosphere.

Clean and comfortable in a quiet area of town, free parking, balcony with view, friendly staff but most of all the superb food.

In a lovely location. Quiet and comfortable with a great Michelin Star restaurant. Easy to use as a base for exploring the area and hiking.

The quality of the bed, towels, small detail of a galette in the bed when we arrived…the room is fully equipped. They offer good quality teas and other drinks free of charge.

I didn't have breakfast, but the location was superb. Better to stay in a small town where places are easier to find and from that base to tour the country around than to stay in a big city. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. Everything was fine!

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The car parking was very easy and free. We were given a warm welcome and shown our spotlessly clean room with a wonderful view. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge full of water. We had a delicious steak in the outside dining area and had a continental breakfast delivered to our room which was well presented and extremely tasty!
