“The best travel experience we’ve ever had…”

Undoubtedly the best travel experience we have ever had. Into the woods is a truly special place and we will never forget our time there. Kumara’s knowledge and passion for the environment meant we learnt so much. He took us on some incredible adventure days out which gave us the most authentic experience of Sri Lanka from our entire 3 week trip. We looked forward to every meal he cooked - flavours and fuel for everyday. Himself and Madhen both made us so comfortable, we felt truly at home and really did not want to leave! The cabins are pretty basic, but add to the raw natural experience and being at one with nature. If you want to feel at peace - this is the place!

For me, it's a truly amazing place. From my cabana excelent view to jungle, mountains and planty of animals there. No cars can be heard. I like philosophy of natural farming, living, and building. You feal its not only label but truth in this place. The owner is incredibly helpful and kind, always ready to help. The manager is great too, even if his understaning of English has limits, but he is very helpful, friendly and hard-working. This is not job for him, this is his life and mission. Meals were adapted to my Allergies. Rich meals that I could never finish :-) In the cabana I felt our ancient roots, when people were more a part of nature.

“Perfect!”

One of the best experiences in my life! Kumar was the nicest host ever. He took us to a village tour, where we could see how Sri Lankan people live without tourist crowds. Even if we had some plans for visiting different locations in this area, we didn’t want to leave the property, it was that good! This is the perfect place for those who want to be as close as possible to the nature. The rooms were beautiful, as he sad, not luxurious, but the true piece of adventure!

“Exceptional!”

I really enjoyed my stay at the woods. I felt very welcome, the staff is super friendly and warm! The food is exceptional and the property is so beautiful! The rooms are simple but I felt very comfortable! I enjoyed some bathes in the river pools and learned a lot about different plants! I can highly recommend to stay at the woods if you are looking for a timeout in the jungle!

Everything was wonderful, the location, the farm, the food was mind-blowing. The staff is extremely nice and kind and super knowledgeable. We stayed 4 days and didn't want to leave. It was our best stay of the whole trip. Thank you so much.

This is a permaculture farm set deep in the woods with its own waterfall and swim hole. The huts are simple but beautiful and I was the only person there, so had the place to myself. It was the best local breakfast I had and homemade cinnamon and lemongrass tea topped it off. If you want peace and quiet and to experience a different path, then this gem is for you.

The Woods is a quiet and calm place for those who would like to experience the nature and to get away from a busy lifestyle. There is no TV and limited internet signal which creates a good opportunity to connect with nature and live a simple life. The property is bordering to it's private waterfall which allows us to enjoy the nature in peace. The woods team is very caring. The food is absolutely amazing. Very fresh and some ingredients are picked from the property itself.

“Experience nature in it's fullest glory!”

This is a beautiful place where you'll find yourself in tune with nature in it's fullest glory. Every aspect of 'the Woods' exudes a natural vibe. Lots of wood, clay elements, beautiful plants everywhere. It has clearly been well-maintained. The staff is very friendly. Also there is a beautiful forest that they have partly cultivated and partly kept in it's pristine purity. If you want there are a few waterfalls with natural ponds where you can take a dip. The view from the main building is beautiful and at night there are just a few lights, giving you the feeling that uninhabited places still exist. You really feel like you are in the woods, surrounded by nature. A welcome change from most places where too much has been built. This is really a natural retreat space. Beautiful ❤️

Loved the landscape and the rooms. It was built into the surroundings very well incorporating the landscape. Mano and the team were great, they were attentive and eager to help us. Mano was very eager to teach and show us the agro farming and perma culture at the site. Mano is very passionate and it shows in his work. Come here if you want to explore eco friendly farming, nature, and like to relax to the sounds of nature - falling asleep to insects chirping and waking up to bird song.
