Very disappointing experience. I stayed on 01/05/2026 and had booked a double room with a balcony through Booking.com for $10. However, upon arrival, I was given a low-floor room of much lower quality that did not match the booking at all. The room itself was also concerning, as it did not have a proper door lock from the outside, which felt unsafe. When we asked the staff about the change, they were unhelpful and unprofessional. The staff member also mentioned that since it was a long weekend, they could easily sell the room to someone else for a higher price. This kind of response is unacceptable and shows a lack of basic customer service. Overall, a very poor experience and not recommended.

“Excellent value for money. I recommend !”
Good location, 20min walk from Haputhale center and the bus or railway station. Amazing view over the mountains from the balcony. Bed was comfortable and with clean sheets. At first I only had a bedsheet for the mattress and a blanket, but I asked for an extra sheet (I don’t like having a blanket directly on contact with my skin) and the host kindly gave it to me, as well as another blanket. Bathroom was ok, rather clean and the shower had hot water and strong pressure. Dinner was very, very generous and excellent. She truly is an amazing cook ! I didn’t try the breakfast but I guess it’s the same. The family is the best part. They’re very nice, available, accommodating and helpful. Always ready to help and give tips to discover the area!

“A great homestay near to the Haputale centre”
A great accommodation near the Haputale centre - the host was very nice and friendly, greeted us with a tea, the dinner we had there was one of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka (as well as the breakfast) and he shared with us plenty of tips for the local trips! The room had everything we needed (and a hot shower!) - when we arrived it was quite cold in Haputale, so take this into account when heading to this area (we appreciated extra layers we had with us).

I booked for my family visit, booking confirmed by host in the first step. But, unfortunately they allocated my rooms for another clients. 😢😢 Out of the booking.com. It was a bad experience of my family tour. Please don't same practise again. If you have any direct customers, you may close the booking.com.
