“An amazing little corner, by far our favorite place we have ever stayed in.”

I could write about a poem about this place rather than a reveiw. What an experience to have stayed at Karistua for over a week! The view from every window is breathtaking, the peacefulness the moment you enter the valley. The lake holds so much character, we found ourselves staring endlessly at it. We cannot recommend this place enough. Although a drive from Tromsø, we found each journey to be different, if we were to head in that direction. The ever changing landscapes and views make the drive feel 5 minutes. The cabin, in our opinion, is the warmest place in the arctic circle. The host has made it very homely, cosy and perfect for a couple, or family - filled with all you need for a short or long stay. The town near us called Hansnes has a EuroSpar and surprisingly a good size for a small or big shop. You're surrounded by hikes, mountains, trees, nature and often in a short distance, reindeer. In a heartbeat, we would return, especially in the summer to see the island differently and experience it all over again.

The location is exceptional, the hosts are amazing, and the place is just amazing. The view to the lake and the nature is spectacular.

“A calm stay away from the crowds”

Away from the crowds this place serves as an ideal home base to which you can return to after a roadtrip through the northern fjords. During the night we could see northers lights all around us (late November, cloudy but the sky cleared up for 2-3h). The fireplace is a huge plus and provides a nice ambiance next to „heat“. The kitchen was well equipped and we could easily prepare food on both days of our stay. On one day the landlord removed some snow from the path which led to our cabin - helpful as we used it with our car. Note: We didn’t use the 2nd floor at all. We also never met the landlord - this can feel weird but we actually enjoyed the seclusion.

Amazing house with the most fantastic view! The house has everything someone may need during their stay! The hosts were very kind and willing to help us in whatever we needed! We hope to come back one day!

It was a perfect holiday! The cottage is beautiful and really well equipped. The location is absolutely stunning. Our hosts were most welcoming and helpful! And we saw the most amazing aurora from our terrace!

We were warmly welcomed by Jan, who was extremely supportive during our stay in Karistua. He made sure we had all what was needed to relax and unwind. We loved the cabin. It has everything you need for a short or long stay. Amenities are top notch including sharp knives ( we love to cook). After a long day out cross country skiing we were so happy to warm up near the fireplace. Cabin is also extremely well insulated with floor heating in some parts! We didn’t want to leave! It’s easy to find even in the dark.

The experience was exceptional in every aspect. The place exceeded expectations with its abundance of space and a fully equipped kitchen. Despite the already efficient central heating, a charming fireplace added to the cozy atmosphere. Jan, our host, was outstanding, attending to every need with warmth and efficiency.

This place is amazing. Jan & Kari made us very welcome. Such a lovely couple. The cabin has everything you need for a cozy stay. Plenty of room, fireplace, nature and brilliant views. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights almost every night during our week long stay. We didn't want to leave, we would happily move there ;) I

Our stay was absolutelly wonderful! We arrived at late night, saw nothern lights the same night and in the morning we could see breathtaking view on fjord just from the window. I would consider similar picture a kitch, but it was a beautiful colorful reality (although in November!). Everything was just perfect - well equiped house, superfast WiFi, big bathroom, nice dining room. We could see nothern lights almost every day, althouth it was cloudy. We didn't have a chance to meet the owner, but we didn't feel lost or alone, we have communicated over the booking chat. Happy to come back one day.

Excellent property with spacious dining and living room. Cozy bedrooms with comfortable beds and blankets. Breathtaking views on all sides - snow covered mountains and a big lake. Quiet, except for the sound of seagulls!
