The real charm point of this place is the amazing view and mountaintop forest location. It's really nice to cook outside while nestled in the trees. The cabins are cosy and chill too.

Manager was super friendly, professional and helpful. He explained how to use the facility with great detail and enthusiasm. The place was truly nestled in nature surrounded by beautiful hills and little chirping birds…loved being able to make fire in outdoor wood stove and grill outside on the charcoal bbq…so fun and relaxing… I went in winter and they have proper heating inside the cabin, electricity, hot shower in cabin, hair dryer, kettle and even TV! Vending machines are also there!

Gorgeous spot, wonderful view. Make sure you have everything you need, you don't want to be running to a shop (which is far), you want to be enjoying the cabin and surrounds.

“A comfortable stay in a stunning location”

A stunning location, beautiful cabin and a pleasant stay overall! We've been well looked after throughout, and enjoyed the outdoors while still having the comfort of the cabin when the cold became too much. We used our small stove indoors whenever we wanted to warm up soup or make tea. Also we had a wood fire outside and we fully enjoyed the cool weather BBQ. Will definitely go there again!

Fresh air and a fantastic view - Tokyo was visible. While there were a number of families over the weekend, you have the privacy and tranquility in our cottage. The cottage was clean. Glad that the shower room has heater.

Great location in the middle of forest, only 3hrs travel from Tokyo. Perfect for 2-3days break from busy city life. The facility was great for accommodation (you need to plan for your food). The owner was extremely nice and helpful.

“A wonderful solo trip to recharge in nature”

I chose this facility because I was looking for a place surrounded by nature, where I could get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I wanted a place not far from Tokyo, where I could be alone in silence and where I could hike. Shomaru Pass Garden was simply the best choice I could make. I traveled alone by public transportation. On the day of check in, I arrived at Shomaru Station without difficulty, and I was expecting to hike up the mountain on a Hiking route (50-minute walk), but that day the road was closed for a few hours for extraordinary work. I called the owner of the Cottage, who was very kind and helped me right away to find a solution and call a taxi (I had no choice, the alternative walking was too long and difficult). On the day of check out I was able to hike and I really enjoyed it. So worthy! The owner is so kind, he greeted me with a smile and with whom I had long and pleasant chats. I stayed in the cottage weekdays & off-season, so I was the only guest. This allowed me to immerse myself in peace and silence, as I wished. However, I think the place is also suitable for lively occasions with friends and family, as there is everything you need to barbecue. The tables were nice and very large, and the communal terrace has a breathtaking view. As soon as I walked in my acomodation I could smell wood, so pleasant! Both bed and sofa are comfortable. The kettle, refrigerator, and paper cups were very useful for me, who was traveling alone without a car and was able to carry coffee and ramen to consume there. The bathroom is comfortable and clean, the water in the shower was hot and the mirror was large. Shampoo and body soap (no conditioner) are of very good quality, I was surprised by that. There is only one towel per person, which is a bit small. There are convenient reusable slippers. As amenities, I found toothbrush, hairbrush and razors.

Basic yet comfortable bungalows up in the mountains (entirely made out of wood). Barely any mobile reception (Wifi available), thus great to place for relaxing and / or hiking in the surroundings. BBQ equipment easily available if reserved ahead. Has everything including a warm shower. Considering to go again.

Amazing place just an hour drive from Tokyo. It is a resort with wooden cabins. Each cabin has a private shower with toilet. If you’re looking for a place to recover and enjoy quiet nature, this is definitely a place to be.
