Just 300 metres from the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools, Kakapo Lodge boasts a guest lounge with a log fireplace and a large communal kitchen and dining area. There are 3 patios and a courtyard with BBQ facilities. Free limited WiFi and onsite parking is provided. Located in a quiet street alongside the Hanmer Forest, Kakapo Lodge is 7 minutes' drive from Thrillseekers Adventures and tours. It is 45 minutes' drive from the Hanmer Springs Ski Area. Accommodation options include self-contained suites, dormitories and private rooms. All rooms offer underfloor heating. Most rooms offer mountain views. Some rooms have a private bathroom, others offer access to shared bathroom facilities.

Staff were extremely helpful - I accidentally booked a double room rather than a twin (completely my fault) and it was changed over with no issues or additional costs. Located right next to everything you need, cleaner than the majority of backpacker hostels and no noise.

It is super nice, it's quiet and comfortable, very close to the pools and restaurants, perfect for a weekend away! They have a nice living room with some puzzles for kids and a terrace, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It's better than the pictures.

I loved it here. It was wonderful. I would definately stay here again and would recommend to anyone. It was comfortable, warm, quiet. Great kitchen to prepare food. Many areas to relax. Great facilities. Good parking. Easy to access. Close by to everything in Hanmer Springs.
