Overview
“Vai Moana”, translated as “Blue Sea” in Rapa Nui, is a tropical-themed hotel on Easter Island, 5-minutes walk from Hanga Roa. It offers private bungalows, island adventure excursions and cave exploration. Guests at Hotel Vai Moana can explore the island with a guided tour, horseback ride or nature trail. They can also book a diving class to observe the rich underwater life, or relax in the tropical gardens. The floodlit bungalows at Vai Moana have wooden floors with decorative flowered bedding. All are equipped with a fan, a minibar and internet until 10pm. The restaurant serves local Polynesian cuisine such as Umi Pae, cooked in a traditional earth oven, and guests can enjoy a tropical cocktail at the rustic bar. A daily breakfast buffet is served. Activities can be arranged at the property, including movie screening of Rapa Nui history, preparation and tasting of Curanto, and spa facilities. Hotel Vai Moana is a 5-minute drive from the Tahai ceremonial archeological site, and 4-blocks from the beach. Tours and horseback riding activities can be booked on site. An airport shuttle and car rental service is available.

“With so many choices on the island, there should be steps made to improve communication.”
Breakfast was fantastic. The charcuterie options brought to the table were a great variety, and the fresh juices were delicious. Great coffee, too.
