“The best hostel we’ve ever had!”

Highly recommend this hostel! Pamela and Carlos have a beautiful house! Everything is tidy and organized. The location is great, close to the Main Street, to the beach and to Tahai. We are very welcomed and treated as family by Pamela and Carlos. Will definitely stay here again if we ever have a chance to come back!

I stayed at the most wonderful place on Easter Island and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. Carlos kindly picked me up from the airport, and from the very beginning both he and Pamela made my stay feel truly special. Pamela, who is from Rapa Nui, and Carlos were incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. Even before my arrival, they shared valuable tips via WhatsApp on what to see, where to go, and how to make the most of my stay. Once I arrived, their advice and care continued, always thoughtful and perfectly timed. The place itself is exceptional: warm, peaceful, and full of heart. It is rare to feel so immediately at home when travelling, and I honestly have never experienced hospitality quite like this. The location was ideal for me: close enough to the town centre for a short walk, which I really enjoyed, while still feeling calm and removed. Breakfast was outstanding and clearly prepared with care. Every detail reflected how much Pamela and Carlos truly care about their guests and their experience on the island. My stay was made unforgettable because of them, and I sincerely hope I will have the chance to return and see them again. If you are coming to Rapa Nui and looking for a place that offers warmth, authenticity, and genuine connection, this is it.

“Perfect choic e to stay in Rapa Nui”

We feel very happy to stay in the hostal. Our host Pamila was very nice, kind and considerable. Everything is well organized, from free airport pick up and send off, breakfast very abundant (pans, yogurt, cheese, fruit, coffee, tea, ham, jam, etc. ) and well prepared. Rooms are clean, tidy and quite. No mosquitos or insects. We are at the time for festival and Pamila provided useful information on the shows, and tours. Good location, near city center so you can go to supermarket, pharmacy, bank, or dinner, also can go to see Moais in Tahai for sunset every day in around 10-15 minutes. In all, we feel at home and the welcome, hospitality, care from Pamila all the time. Highly recommended to go Makohe hostal for your stay in Rapa Nui.

Pamela was a wonderful host!! She taught us a lot about the island and was so open and generous with us. She will help you find your guides or anything you need! The location is walking distance (10 min) from the center. There are beautiful flowers and trees and places to sit to enjoy.

Our host Pamela was extremely nice even doing breakfast for us everyday we were there and bringing it out to us. . Although she spoke no English, her husband did and communication was not a problem. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed.. They collected us from the airport and returned us there at the end of our stay. Brilliant.

The host is so warm and welcoming. Nothing was a problem. The place was clean and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again. Good internet.

“Absolutely amazing place!”

This is a true gem. We have never met hosts like these ones. The couple, Pamela and Carlos, are not only nice and friendly and accommodating, but they seriously try to do whatever it takes to make your Rapa Nui experience unforgettable. They offer an airport transfer and a delicious breakfast at no additional cost, even though these are not included in the booking.com offer. They recommend tour agencies, restaurants and other points of interest that are super reliable. They go as far as taking you to some places if you cannot afford other means of visiting. Don't overuse their kindness! As for the Hostal: the room is quite spacious, the bed is very comfortable, all spaces are spotless clean, especially the bathroom. The room is decorated with much taste. You can use the amazingly beautiful outside terraces with lots of flowers to relax. There is a common kitchen shared by all rooms, which is superbly equipped with everything necessary, even for cooking yourself, which you won't do, because the food offered in the restaurants is delicious. Even though there is no air con, the temperature in the room is pleasant with windows open. There are some chickens in the backyard and a lovely cat, that adores snacks. Overall the quality that you receive for the money paid is unbelievable, so look no further and book now!

Nice and healthy yogurt breakfast is served. Clean room and cozy bed are there. All the hostel lacks is just you yourself! GO!

Both of the hostess were so nice. They help you in everything they can. You can ask them everything and they try to help you in the best way possible. It felt warm to be there.

amazing hostal run by the nicest couple. rooms and grounds were meticulously clean. they provided an amazing breakfast that hadn't been included in original booking. super fast wifi and free transport to/from airport. highly recommended!

“Very clean and comfortable hostel well located in Hanga Roa”

Although I only stayed 1 night, the room was very comfortable and the hostal is very well located in Hanga Roa. There is everything you need in the kitchen and the breakfast provided was excellent.

Pamela and Carlos are excellent hosts and reallly welcoming, with helpful advice on everything. Kitchen access was proivided with free bread, tea and coffee. Airport pick up and drop off also provided. Lovely place!

The people are very friendly and helpful. The transfer from and to the airport was ensured by the property. Very nice welcome. The room was clean, hot water all time. The common space for eating is big, with all needed tools. About 15 minutes walking from the city center, also 10 min walking from Ahu Tahai, excellent place to see the sunset.
