We loved the warm, inviting and well-appointed interior, as well as the outdoor bath, beautiful view and opportunity to collect eggs for breakfast. Wonderful, friendly hosts too.

Just 14 minutes out of Hamilton, but has a very rural farm-y atmosphere with brand new amenities. The home itself is fully equipped, and would be comfortable for longer family stays. The chickens and sheep were all friendly and fun to feed. Overall it's an extremely pleasant place to stay and soak in quiet little farm vibes.

We had an exceptional stay at this accommodation. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The setting is stunning—quiet, scenic, and incredibly relaxing. The accommodation was immaculate, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. The farm experience was a real highlight, especially spending time with the sheep and chickens, collecting eggs and enjoying the fresh air and natural surroundings. It’s the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. The outdoor bath was a charm. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into the property, and it truly shows. We left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful countryside getaway.

There’s so much to love. The serenity and peace that the location offered, the fire place giving nostalgic childhood vibes while watching movies, the outdoor bath under the stars, the farm animals and provided sheep and chicken food, the big spacious kitchen, the well equipped kitchen and full laundry amenities. It was perfect for what was a tough emotional week for us. We got to unwind, sit and reflect in a slice of paradise. Thank you

“A lovely place to escape to in the country but still close to the city”

This was like a home away from home , we felt relaxed as soon as we walked in the door . The house was very well stocked with thoughtful items like milk , sundries that sometimes you forget on holiday . Lovely surrounds , gardens and animals which made it a lovely country stay . Magnolia Cottage was a wonderful retreat on our NZ trip. We spent two nights here and loved the animals, the comfortable beds, and the full kitchen. The outdoor bath was heavenly. Our son collected eggs and fed the sheep and chickens. It was such a great, peaceful stay. We visited Hobbiton from here (a 50-minute drive), and Magnolia Cottage felt like our own Hobbit home.

“The Magical Magnolia”

The tranquility, peacefulness, and nature set in sights and reach of a farm (sheep and chooks) setting and scenery. The garden gave a rustic, free, natural tone - simply beautiful. The morning sun complemented the quiet start to our day. Spectacular! The Magnolia gave us the comforts and warmth of home. Our boys were very settled and enjoyed riding their scooters on arrival before we left to watch our team. We enjoyed the swings that landed feet in crunchy sounding leaves and feeding the friendly sheep and chickens. Magnolia had everything we needed. There was an outside 🛁 that we didn't have the time to use. Most definitely plan on staying a couple more nights next visit down to Turangawaewae Marae or supporting the Auckland Blues next game at FMG Stadium. It's definitely a retreat away from a busy Auckland life. We absolutely recommend the Magnolia B&B 🥰..
