Great location, friendly hosts, lots of wildlife

“Wonderful Wonderland”

Great location to Halls Gap amenities, pubs, restaurants. Ideal to explore on foot with easy to reach trails, or to drive further afield into The Grampians. The cottage is self contained with great facilities for self catering. We visited during the start of winter so the great air con systems provided wonderful heat along with a great sized log burner which we enjoyed stoking up each night. Double bedroom was very comfortable, plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Rain shower in the bathroom was super nice and the provided eco friendly toiletries smelt fab. The setting of the cottage was great, off the main road up the hill slightly. It was very peaceful. We enjoyed visits from the local wild life, Kangaroos, Magpies and we even saw a Possum one night! Thanks to Matt & Danny for making Wonderland live up to its name.

Our Cottage was located in a lovely quiet area away from the main road but still within walking distance to restaurants and the town. The arrangement was cute with a downstairs lounge and wood fire (and wood provided) for ambience, but reverse cycle for convenience. Nestled amongst the gums there was plenty of birdlife and kangaroos roaming around.

Cute cottage just outside the town centre. Spacious unit with equipped kitchenette. Good shower and comfy beds.

Wonderland Cottages is a wonderful, very and beautiful place in the Grampian Mountains in and in harmony with nature. Located in Halls Gap in the woods, many birds and wallabies and deer in the morning at your doorstep. The cottage is very (!) comfortable and fully equipped, everything that you might need during your stay is there. The owners really thought of everything to make one’s stay a pleasant one. There is a lot of information in the cottage about every hike or walk in the Grampians (with the personal experience of the owners who did them all), restaurants and shops in the villages, books about the birds (very convenient, there are many) and flowers. The owners also made the cottage a sustainable one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE

Lovely area, birds and wallabies/kangaroos in the garden. The hosts really take care of us, lost of hiking suggestions in the guide book. We absolutely recommend.

“Was a lovely stay in a town surrounded by the wonders nature and lovely cottages”

The cottages are in a peaceful location and a nice walk to the town. The cottage i stayed in had all the amenities needed and was very comfortable and Matt and Danny provided information on walks to do and places to eat

“Relaxing, easy, comfortable, was great, if we could own a cottage this would be it.”

Small but perfectly formed, it was a perfect little cottage, with 2 levels, and plenty of space to spread out and also get some space from tired family. The bathroom was as large as one of the bedrooms, with a dedicated spacious toilet, large tub, and clean effective washing machine. The wildlife literally came up to the door, seriously be careful when you’re driving, there are kangaroos everywhere, we even had to stop to let an echidna cross just outside town.

Close walk to the town centre and main road with shops and restaurants. Cottage is well equipped and feels spacious. We saw plenty of wildlife, like kangaroos and cockatoos, right on our doorstep, which was very exciting
