Cabin was away from the main area of town towards the dam. Location exceptionally quiet with loads of wildlife in the evening. Having a fire pit into the evening to watch the night sky a real bonus.

I was woken on my last morning by Kookaburras laughing, went into the kitchen and saw 7 Kangaroos of different sizes and a rabbit and after making tea opened the bedroom blinds to see 6 Emus on the lawn. later mobbed by sulphur-crested cockatoos. Wonderful. That alone would make The Hideaway the best of the 15 accommodations we have rented during our trip. But its layout, the facilities, amenities, and the kitchen equipment are top rate and the beds spacious and comfortable - that would put it top too. The place was very clean on our arrival, and the outdoor furniture front and back offer choices for seating and eating which are excellent.

The cabin was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and the area was beautiful and quite - but still an easy drive into Halls Gap village. As it was a hot weekend the a/c and fans were well utilised! The wildlife around the cabins was lovely to photograph and experience.
