The staff were amazing! Alan and his Mum took great care of us- made us breakfast and dinner and drove us to and from the slopes!

Hakuba 76 truly has a soul and fantastic atmosphere. . If you like to meet new people and have a very friendly staff this is your place. I stayed for 30 days. We had a great time on CNY by making dumplings and watching movies together.

Everyone was so so nice!!! Thank you Alan and the rest of the family/crew Shout out to Veronne ♥︎ they made dumplings last night for the Chinese new year wich was great!! The property has been recently renovated and was extremely clean and beautiful. The amenities were very well equipped — I was pleasantly surprised to even find a Dyson hair dryer. There is also a gym and a game room, which create a nice shared space for guests to relax and socialize. You can really feel the owner’s attention to detail throughout the entire property, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The biggest surprise, however, was the food. Breakfast is simple but offers a good variety, and everything was incredibly delicious. Knowing that the owner is a former chef made it even more impressive — the quality truly exceeded expectations. I would love to try dinner next time. Highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again.

Alan and other members are really great hosts. Everything was handled well. I had a very warm welcome from them and other hostlers. Alan went an extra way to drop my jacket to the bus station before my bus to Tokyo left. I really felt connected to everyone in Hakuba76 and had a lot of meaningful moments in just two days of staying here.

I don't do Review. But if i do. there is something special. The Staff is Amazing. They make you feel like home. This place even have Gym and Playstation 5. Clean and comfort vibe. Near to one of the Skii Resort. about 5-7min up slope walk. 1-2min drive only. one of the Quieter slope you can find in Hakuba. They provide pick up at Train station. also offer transport to slope at 8am and pick up about 4ish. as of the date i visited in 7-11 Jan 2026. I was sick on the last 2 days of my trip. Down with fever, flu and cough. They really take good care of me. make sure i medication, food and water. The boss do has passion on snowboarding and we share great conversation and sharing on our board discussion. There is where i found out how the name " Hakuba76" came about. Pretty interesting. and one its pretty then hard to not remember. Highly Recommended! But you really have to experience it yourself too.

Alan was very hospitable and accomodate our transport around Hakuba when he could. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and breakfast was nice each morning.

“Awesome Hostel Filled with Amazing People”

The staff and host were very friendly and helpful, even though they didn't know Japanese or English. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning before going skiing at Happa One. I also am appreciative that they drove us to the skiing resort and picked us up after. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. They were nice and warm after a day of skiing. I also met other wonderful people at the hostel. I would highly recommend staying at the place.

Al and his mum both try really hard to look after everybody that stays there. Al took us all to the ski resort we wanted every morning and picked us up at 4pm, stopped at 7/11 on the way back so we could grab food. It was very helpful!

Great atmosphere and the owners are super helpful, driving guests to the ski fields and picking them up daily. Plenty of showers, good drying room for ski gear.

Hakuba76 is a tremendous place to stay. Alan and his lovely mother will take great care of you and make you feel like you're family. You can get shuttled out to a mountain of your choice every morning by Alan himself and then get picked up in the afternoon. This was so handy considering the extra distance to travel from sanosaka. The amenities were top notch as well making it great value for money.
