The breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was a little remote but the staff drove me to the local ski resort so that made up for the remoteness. The lounge area was comfy. It was good to have a fridge for guests food.

Good value for money. Breakfast included was good.

The owner was great and really made an effort in all ways. I give the owner 5 star. The onsen/ bathroom was very nice (but only one shower for the whole hotel is very strange and not enough) The house is beautiful ON THE OUTSIDE The heater in the room was effective.

Clean and comfortable place with very friendly, helpful staff. A big thank you to Alan for helping us with transfers, lifts, and answering all our questions — it made the stay much easier and more enjoyable. The hotel is a short drive from most Hakuba ski resorts and easy to get around with shuttles, buses, taxis, and Uber. Just note there isn’t much right next to the hotel, so a bit of planning is needed for shops and restaurants. Overall, a great base for skiing in Hakuba.

Great location , 5 minutes to Tsugaki and Iwatake ski resorts . very nice and friendly staff, willing for help all the time . and the room is clean and warm, you can soak in the bathtub for relax . Free pick up to Hakuba station 。

Everything. The location was fantastic as while being around 4kms out of Hakuba this we saw as an advantage. The guesthouse was amongst the most beautiful setting and you looked out onto snow covered trees. It was calm, beautiful and welcoming. The guesthouse itself was simple, but so inviting: warm, well heated spacious rooms, comfortable beds, expansive lounge and breakfast area and Allan, the owner and host was outstanding. It was brilliant value for money. Allan collected us from Happo bus station upon our arrival, drove us to the ski field each morning and collected us at the end of the day. He made the whole skiing experience effortless. He even picked us up in Hakuba one evening on our first day when we needed to get back to the guesthouse. He went out of his way to ensure our stay was everything we expected and more. Breakfast was also included and was lovely. Shared bathroom no issue and so organised as was the drying room for the ski gear. Allan also owns a ski rental shop, hostel and bar within walking distance from "Powder Republic" and we welcomed a drink and tasty fried chicken at the restaurant one night. It was only a short walk from "Powder Republic". We also went into Hakuba for NYE and with help from the staff at "Powder Republic" we obtained a taxi in and home on NYE. Getting around despite being out the centre of Hakuba was therefore not an issue. Loved the whole experience. Would definitely stay at the "Powder Republic" on our next stay skiing in Hakuba. Thanks to Allan and the whole PR staff for a fabulous time.

Amazing host, very friendly and driving us back and forth ski resorts during our stay. The related bar restaurant is also very high quality.

We had a great time. Very welcoming hosts and good atmosphere. Definitely more of a budget option but great value for money.

“Enjoyable weekend in the snow!”

The accommodation is basic but is comfortable and clean. Alan the host is amazing! He is so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was good and we appreciated the ability to make coffee and tea with free snacks. The lounge room had a great tv that offered Netflix too. The location is not right at the snow resort but reasonably easy to get around, thanks to Alan and his van or the Hakuba Valley Shuttle is a 5 minute walk away. It is well located if you want to avoid Happo/Hakuba 47/Goryu and the crowds and ski Tsugiake, Norikura or Iwatake but Alan offers transfers to Happo if that’s your preference.

“Pleasant stay. Convenient to skiing.”

Staff was great. Very helpful. Dug our car out of the snow with a snow blower very early in the morning. Breakfast was good. O-furo was very, very nice.
