“A lovely friendly and well located place to base yourself.”
Lovely hotel perfect for location to the mountain and Hakuba centre. A bit dated but otherwise clean and a very friendly place to stay. Loved the onsen. Loads of info on the area either in leaflet form or posters or just ask. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice!

“Brilliant. Coming back.”
Best breakfast and hosts in our trip to Japan. Very welcoming and nothing a bother. A true Japanese experience which confirmed our reason for travelling to Japan in the first instance. Loved the snacks and coffee/tea availability for guests when coming back from a big ski day. Already spread the word to our friends and looking forward to coming back to Hakuba next year. They make some of the best organic jams that we have ever tasted and we couldn't leave without buying some. When we left the hotel, the hosts were still waving goodbye, even when we were more than 400 metres away. Just amazing. Even had onsens for guests, the complete package.

“A wonderful traditional Japanese stay with lovely hosts!”
The staff were lovely, even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop upon arrival/departure. The snack station was nice too. The onsen was outstanding and both times used we had it to ourselves! Location was great too- only a couple minutes walk to the Happo bus stop where you can get the shuttle to all resorts, also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

“Exceeded expectations”
I stayed here recently for 6 nights. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were very welcoming and kind, always willing to help with whatever I needed. The location is superb and the onsen an absolute highlight. Breakfast was a small buffet with variety for all tastes. The room and hotel were expectionally clean. I would stay here again if I were to return to Hakuba.

“Thank you Bergtour Marukita team!”
My partner and I stayed for a week of skiing and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The staff were all so warm and helpful and the facilities were amazing. We had breakfast included which was delicious and really set us up for the ski day ahead. The kaiseki style dinners were also wonderful and made from fresh ingredients. Facilities-wise everything was covered - an equipment/boot room with lockers and drying space, public onsen, laundry facilities, complementary snacks and even a free morning drive to the Happo slope. Couldn’t recommend this enough!

“Incredibly Helpful Staff and Great Location to Access Skiing”
The staff went absolutely above and beyond for me during my stay, especially after I got injured. They gave me an extra room, changed my bed from a futon to a mattress and gave me a chair for the shower. They were also super supportive and very empathetic which was nice when I as away from home. Breakfast was pretty good and they even made it cheaper for me as a vegetarian. The french toast and potato gratin especially were my favourite. The room was pretty big and nice to relax in after a long day skiing. The onsen facilities were great and a nice introduction for my first time using one. It was very close to the Hakuba bus station, skia ski resort plus the Lawson and a lot of restaurants.

“I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Hakuba - as well as all the amenities, the hotel has an unexplainable charm”
Everything. The room was bigger than advertised, futon beds very comfortable, the onsen was incredible, free snacks in the lobby area replenished daily, and the staff were the true highlight. Staying here has been our highlight of the trip.

“The breakfast is superb! Most of the ingredients are homemade, natural and tasty.”
We checked in on 2025/10/27 as a last-minute decision to stay in Hakuba for an early hike on the Happo trail the next morning. It turned out to be the perfect choice. The host and staff showed exceptional hospitality, and the place truly feels like a hidden gem, clean, comfortable, and wonderfully organized. We hope to visit again soon!

“Beautiful staff, close to bus stop to other resorts, will stay again”
The breakfast was excellent- western and japanese choices. The scrambled eggs were delicious! Staff so beautiful- lack of English not a problem, easily overcome with an ipad translator app. Stadd will drive you to the gondola, and the walk to the bus stop for other resorts under 5 minutes. Staff helped me book restaurants for 8 nights- every reservation they made- the food was amazing. Thoroughly recommend it. Onsen on site a huge bonus.

“Amazing stay! Would come back again!”
Can't praise this place enough! Right from our first introduction to the front of house staff - she's so cute, we never caught her name but her enthusiasm is next level. She doesn't speak English but uses a tablet to use a translator app - just brilliant! They allowed us to leave our baggage until check in which was great as it gave us some time to walk around the area and wait for our friends to arrive. Restaurants, rental places, the bus depot and a Lawsons store, all easily within a 5-10 minute walk. There are many things nearby and its closest mountain is Happo One, which the hotel does shuttle you to at either 8am or 9am if you let them know you are interested the night before. There were 3 couples and we all had our own rooms, traditional Japanese with the roll out mats to sleep on. These were doubled to provide extra comfort and I would say I had a decent nights sleep the week we were there. We had a great view from our room on the 3F, the mountains and the town. Plenty of space and storage room in the rooms. The Onsen facilities were great, indoor and outdoor option with a sauna attached at a huge 85 degrees Celsius. Note that the Onsen is closed from 10am to 3pm daily. As we were here in winter, the drying room was important to us. Each room gets its own gear locker downstairs and the drying room is large with hangers provided to make sure your clothes get dry. We had breakfast included and it was delicious. Mostly the same spread everyday with a few alterations, both western and Japanese options. We left full and ready to start the day. The staff here were also very friendly. The French toast is a must! There are a few other cool things, but I will leave that to you to discover.

The Japanese style room was fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect for the slopes - only 10min walk or free shuttle provided. The onsen was such a treat, most of the time we had it to ourselves. Lastly, the staff was so incredibly nice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

“Beautiful lodge, perfect hosts.”
What a gem! This lodge was everything we could have wanted for our stay in the mountains. The hosts could not have been any more accommodating. They were happy to ring the popular restaurants for us to get bookings, which was really helpful during the busy season. The onsen's were pristine, and had plenty of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/hair dryers etc which was a bonus. The rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of room to put your luggage, kettle and mini fridge were super helpful.
