Surrounded by bamboo trees and hills, Yoshimatsu is a traditional Sukiya-style Ryokan (inn) with beautiful outdoor hot spring baths. Overlooking Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi, it provides a free shuttle from Hakone Machi Bus Station. Fitted with tatami-mat flooring, these classic Japanese-style rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV and Yukatas (Japanese-style bathrobes). En suite bathrooms have a bathtub. Yoshimatsu is a 5-minute walk from Lake Ashinoko Cruise Station and a 9-minute walk from Lake Ashinoko. It is within a 15-minute walk from Onshi Hakone Park and an 8-minute drive from Narukawa Museum. Breakfast is served in the guest rooms or in the private dining room which the property will assign. Dinner is served to the guest rooms. Dinner, Kyoto-style Kaiseki cuisine, and breakfast, Japanese set menu, are prepared according to the season's freshest ingredients. Guests can enjoy a relaxing stroll around the landscaped gardens and koi ponds. The hotel also provides massage, karaoke rooms and free parking. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lounge.

Yoshimatsu was an absolutely beautiful place to stay for a few days in the Hakone region. The ryokan has beautiful gardens, spacious rooms with separate bedroom. The staff are exceptional. This is a traditional ryokan so slippers to be used inside. Onsens are great with indoor and outdoor pools. The property was so quiet and peaceful. Perfect for decompressing after visiting busy cities. We would stay there again.

I can see Mt Fuji did time in Japan, see the last minute sakura trees, the customer service was great and the onsen was great. My family liked the food. They book the taxi for you in advance.

“A timeless traditional ryokan”
Everything. First, Thank you very much to the amazing staff very helpful and patient. I spent only 1 night but it was very peaceful and I was feeling refreshed fot the rest of my trip. An authentic experience. I hope to come back one day in Hakone.

“Might not be worth it for you”
There is a great onsen bath, one is shared and one is private, but the thing is everyone is rushing to get to the private one so the public one practically becomes only yours. I've visited the shared 4 times and every time I was alone. The room was spaceous, breakfast and dinner typical japanese with tons of fish, and abundant

“Very special place - we couldn’t have felt more looked after!”
We had an absolutely incredible time at Yoshimatsu, we couldn’t have felt more looked after by the amazing staff - they made everything so easy and relaxing! Our room and view was stunning, with a view of Mount Fuji in the distance. We absolutely loved being able to experience and get to enjoy the peaceful onsens. It was truly a joy to get to experience a stay like this, we will continue to recommend this incredible place to friends and family!! Thank you for making it so special

Great experience. Facilities are quite old already but very well maintained. We loved the food and service. We had a room overseeing the garden and mountains. There is a private onsen available for free which was also very nice.

“Japanese hospitality and low key luxury at its best!”
Our stay at Yoshimatsu was the highlight of our Japan trip! Japanese hospitality at its best is what comes to mind when we think of our time spent in this beautiful and traditional ryokan. Everything was perfect and so delicate, from the staff’s warm welcome, to the quality and presentation of the food, and of course how could we not mention our butler’s Ery’s perfect service and kindness ! The location is also amazing to visit Mount Fuji and the various museums around. We highly recommend Yoshimatsu and will be back !

Everything, especially the staff and the food. The place is so peaceful, serene, clean and so beautifully decorated. The staff were all very attentive, respectful and helpful, even before we arrived with advice on transportation & costs. The food is amazing - fine dining quality. We had half board and every meal was like a true discovery of Japanese cuisine and artistry. We always look forward to the onsen and the place is always calm and clean. My daughter and I would like to thank all the staff there for an amazing holiday, especially 'Lena' who took such good care of us every day we were there.
