“Beautiful Japanese house with incredible views and a lovely host!”

One of the most beautiful houses we stayed in on our trip to Japan! We loved this place, and it worked really well for our family. Clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious, functional, with beautiful traditional details around the house and the most incredible views out of the window. We loved it here, and our host was super helpful and gave us a lift to the station with our bags.

This villa is super nice, IF you are looking for the traditional Japanese way of life. Simple and beautiful. It has everything you need to be comfortable, but it is not a luxury villa. The views make up.for it, the sound of the rain and the odd train in the evening (trains run until 11pm and start again at 6am) birds will wake up at 5am and they sound amazing! The location is great, 2.minute walk from the station, it is a steep hill and some narrow lanes to explore..the Google maps route is about a 10 minute walk and is longer with a main road. There is a shortcut through the houses and across the train tracks! Our host Yoshi was amazingly helpful - he spent alot of.time talking with me on WhatsApp to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed..he even booked us into the local onsen on our first day. And then he gave us late checkout and dropped our bags down to us at the station! What a legend! In summary tranquil, basic and very cosy.! Facilities are good, heaters in the rooms plenty of blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. The house is old.and so has some signs of use but nothing outrageous in my humble opinion. It feels well loved. We certainly loved it! Thanks Yoshi! ❤️🫡

Excellent stay for anyone looking to experience a local flavour. Staff is quick with responses and guide you properly. Highly recommended especially if you are a group of 4 or 5.

The house was ok as there was renovation going on. Enough room for all of us. Walking distance to train station and shops.

very spacious accommodation. The house is a bit older but neat. Everything you , is available. The landlord was very friendly and helpful. Very good stay based on the price!

We really liked the house. Original Japanese style, metresse on the floor, cosey house, a lot of space. Very chill place in the middle of no where (a bit jangle around). we loved the place

Great communication and directions from the owner throughout. Great house in the middle of picturesque location. Tea and coffee machine with water topped up was lovely. Everything was clean and large space. could easily hold a family

You can still see how beautiful this place was and partially still is, despite the poor state of some parts. The beautiful pictures though might be several years old.

The villa was very old but alright to stay in. The owner was already to help.

I loved the uniqueness of the experience. We embraced what we had walked into and as a result had a great time. You see the town was deserted. Most houses boarded up. (An aging population I believe?) It was a short train or bus ride to all the touristy hakone stuff which made the location good.

It was such a heartwarming stay, and the location is incredible, looking outside to see mountain views and trees rustling in the wind was phenomenal. Location is amazing, the house is good, and the host Yoshi is really nice and really helpful!
