Situated only a minute’s walk away from Gora Station of the Hakone Tozan Line, Setsugetsuka boasts a public hot spring bath with free flowing natural spring water, drawn from 2 different hot springs. Free WiFi access is available throughout the entire property. The property operates a 24-hour front desk in addition to 2 restaurants and a souvenir shop on site. Hakone Open-Air Museum is 600 metres from the property, while Pola Museum is 2.5 km away. Setsugetsuka boasts both private and public hot spring baths, as well as free on-site private parking. Guests can try yukata robes offered for rental at the souvenir shop on site, or grab a drink anytime from the drink vending machines in the building. A luggage storage desk and ironing services are available, while fax and photocopying are offered at an extra charge. All guestrooms feature air-conditioning and come equipped with a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, personal locker, green tea set, refrigerator and a hairdryer are provided. “Magical onsen experience”
The onsen was amazing, I absolutely loved the experience staying here. The facilities were amazing and also so easy to visit mount hakone. The breakfast and dinner were great but they were massive. Be prepared to not be able to finish everything

The ryokan was beautiful! The breakfast was so beautifully presented as well with so many variety, and all the staff were really kind and polite. The place was so peaceful, my partner and I ended up sleeping most of our stay because it truly was that relaxing, safe, and comfortable.

“Unforgettable Ryokan Experience”
The entire ryokan was beautiful, and our room, in particular, was peaceful and elegantly designed, giving us an authentic taste of traditional Japanese culture. The open-air bath was exceptional and added greatly to the experience. We also greatly appreciated the attentiveness of the staff, who made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. This was by far our most memorable accommodation and one of the highlights of our trip.

Beautiful Ryoken where we were made to feel very special. Only stayed for 1 night but wish we stayed for at least 2! The evening and breakfast meals were incredible experiences as well as the baths. Hakone in general is also a fantastic place to stay especially with the hakone loop within steps of the hotel itself

Welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely open air onsens, both private and public and set in the lovely wooded area. Our room was an older style Japanese ryokan type room, very spacious, comfortable and charming. We also chose to have breakfast and dinner included and didn’t regret it, both were delicious and delightful. The hotel also provides a range of complimentary offers eg free refreshments, free ramen and free use of yukatas for guest to wear. The location is right next to Gora station, which is easy to get to from Odawara via Hakone Yumoto

Basically first hotel near the station. Room comfortable with sink and toilet in the room and bath tube and shower on the balcony! The garden has a hot spring flowing through and the common bathes are open air. The setting is exceptional!

“Fantastic stay!”
It is an amazing ryokan, Japanese style hotel. The location is fantastic. As soon as we left the station in Gora, just walked straight 20m and were at the hotel entrance. The room was comfy and cozy. Also was the wooden onsen bath tub in it. We stayed at the 219 that I recomend because the garden behind it was special and breathtaking. The food offered, breakfast and dinner, were only in japanese style but very good. The Onsen is a unique and wonderful experience. It’s worth to pay more for that.

“Great experience but probably would book something better next time”
The evening meal was a cool experience and great value for money. And they give you the kimono to wear which is quite cool. Location is great you step off at the station and it’s a few steps away super convenient for doing Hakone loop

“Nice stay a bit pricey for what we get …”
Only 3 private onsens , you can’t go with tattoo in to main one which is shame … guy at reception could say something….but I understand and respect tradition and habits …

“Exceptional”
This is a very unique experience. The onsen was clean and gorgeous. The room was traditional tatame, spacious and comfortable. They lend japanese pyjamas, jackets and yukatas to all guests so the vibe was beautiful. The food was another experience in itself, traditional, lots and lots of food. They also provide lots of snacks throughout the day and free ice cream lollies.

The hotel was very nice, especially the garden and onsen. Also the staff was extremely nice. Location-wise, it was perfect for getting there and going back to Odawara St. (2 min walk to train stations)

“Comfortable stay in Hakone.”
The room was comfortable and we especially enjoyed the bath on our balcony. The hotel also had nice bath products and we had half board, the portions were extremely generous. Nice onsen bath as well.
