Boasting natural hot spring baths, Ryuguden is located next to the picturesque Lake Ashi in Hakone. The view from our room was fantastic, woke to see beautiful Mt Fuji. Made good use of the onsen. Comfortable, spacious, simple, traditional Japanese room. Food was good. Shuttle bus from Odawara worked well.

“UNIQUE EXPERIENCE”
One of the best experiences we’ve ever had. The manager made our stay so special from the welcome until the goodbye. Moreover, we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, so they invited us to a glass of champagne. People were lovely the whole time, and all the facilities were amazing (we were lucky because Mount Fuji was 100% visible the day we went there, and the views from our room were fantastic).

The authentic room with its stunning views encouraged us to unwind and refresh. Being free to wear the yukata throughkit the hotel is relaxing😊And the meals (breakfast and dinner) we're all full of variety and traditional in presentation.

“Unreal Mt. Fuji views”
Waking up to a view of Mt. Fuji was unreal. This is a ryokan and we loved everything about it. I would highly recommend staying for two nights so you also have time to explore and properly relax. Parts of the hotel could use a little TLC(hence the 8), but this did not affect our stay at all. There is a complimentary shuttle bus from the station that must be booked in advance, which was very convenient. Our room was massive and had a private onsen, which was wonderful to relax in after dinner. The public onsen has both indoor and outdoor baths, as well as a sauna and all were excellent. The food was amazing and beautifully presented - it truly looked like artwork. There are many small dishes, so you definitely will not go hungry. They also have a very nice Japanese white wine on the wine list. During dinner, the staff move the zashiki seating and prepare the futon for the night. The next day during cleaning, they put the futon away and restore the seating area. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - I am sorry I cannot remember everyone’s names. When we arrived, Teshima and Fujisaki greeted us at the bus and helped with our luggage. Teshima checked us in, explained all the facilities and walked us to the room to show us how everything worked. Our room was ready when we arrived at around 12:30 pm, so we were able to check in early. Fujisaki checked us out and is one of the kindest people. At dinner, Cheng and Hou took great care of us and explained the dishes. Liu kindly brought ice to the room and opened our wine for us. We will definitely stay here again when in the area and highly recommend Ryuguden.
