Situated in Hakone, 13 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station and 42 km from Fuji-Q Highland, root hakone offers a bar and air conditioning. Decent stay for the price although we only stayed for the night. Paid 500 yen for parking. good and quiet location. Couldnt get to socialize with the folks as we had a time crunch but worth the money paid

Big room and slept on Tatami mats. Decor mimic as the japanese style rooms (paper like window coverings, etc). Shower facilities were great.

“Convenient stay and easy access to public buses.”
Check in was easy. Our host was lovely and helpful. The hostel is a few minutes walk to the bus stop. There is an excellent chemist/ shop close by and we ate at a lovely inn across the road from there. The hot showers were excellent and everything was very clean. The bar had a big range of drinks.

I really liked the bar in the nextdoor house, the bartender is very friendly and nice to talk to! Very cheap accommodation and very easy to get to from Shinjuku. I highly recommend this place!

Exceptionally friendly staff. Quiet, spotlessly clean hostel with a fun, friendly bar where nobody batted an eyelid when I bought one drink and sat on it while playing Scrabble with my sixteen year old son!
