Exceptional historic ryokan with a fantastic staff. The room and private onsen was authentic and great, and the dining experience with local foods prepared in the traditional way was a real treat. It's hard to overstate how good the service and atmosphere is.

Staff were very helpful and always smiling. They helped to carry our luggages . Chef was very accommodating to our diet constraint and even made a last minute change upon request; very talented. “Top indulgent Japanese hotel with private onsen”

Truly the most exceptional hotel we have ever stayed in, perfect for ending our two week holiday to Japan. We were greeted with tea and light snacks by the friendliest staff, and were show to our room (which was really four connected rooms included a geothermally heated onsen in our bathroom). We helped ourselves to complimentary snacks and drinks in our room and changed into our Yukatas. Downstairs, we made use of the complimentary alcoholic drinks bar and sat on comfy sofas listening to soft jazz watching the trees in the garden. We then made use of the private outdoor onsen and headed for our included 8 course meal which was totally stunning, allowing us the opportunity to try a whole array of different Japanese cuisines. After sleeping well on our enormous bed we had a traditional multi-component breakfast and bade farewell to the loveliest hotel.

“Ryogan dream”

Everything. The open-air natural onsen in our room was so relaxing. The service was exceptional, friendly but not overwhelming. We were so well fed and well looked after. Would definitely come back!

Very quiet and clean facilities. The meals were exceptionally tasty and carefully prepared, it felt like a luxurious meal. The public bath was relaxing and calm, the room was very big and comfortable we appreciated the free drinks in our room. It is a good idea to have a small shop and offer local souvenirs to be able to support local businesses in the area.

All staffs are very kind and friendly. They were care about all about the customer what there need it.It made me happy that you remembered everything I said. I visited on my birthday, and thank you so much for celebrating it so warmly. I would definitely come back ❤️

The private onsens - they were very warm, in a beautiful outdoor setting and available to book for free (unlike some other ryokans where the public ones are free but the private onsens only available for an additional fee). Meals were also very good.
