Overview
Just a 5-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Train Station, Masutomi Ryokan features open-air hot spring baths, spacious guest rooms and free Wi-Fi. Guests can reserve the rooftop bath at an additional fee. On-site parking is available for free. The ryokan provides Japanese-style rooms with traditional futon bedding and rooms with Western beds and a tatami (woven-straw) seating area. A TV and a telephone are equipped in all rooms, and bathroom is shared with other guests. Drink vending machines can be used. The property is a 25-minute drive from O-wakudani and Lake Ashi’s Sightseeing Cruise Pier. Traditional Japanese meals are prepared with organic vegetables and fresh seafood, and served in the on-site Fukuryu-an restaurant.

The quite relaxed silence in the hotel. The beautiful and exquisit Onsen. Food is delughtfully served and ther is a wonderful family vibe created from the noment you walk in the door. Warm friendly staff.

The staff was amazing and so helpful! Especially a lady at the reception, we had a bit of a language barrier but still managed to talk a bit. I felt very welcomed, the onsen was also great. Also highly recommend going to tenzan Onsen!!

The onsen was lovely, the food was delicious and staff very kind. The ryokan is designed in traditional Japanese style and a few minutes' walk from the train station. You can sit in front of the hotel, which is next to the river.

“A true Japanese experience”
Staying here felt like a true Japanese experience - we loved the place. Very handy location - about 5 mins walk from the train station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived a couple of hours early and there was no problem checking in. The room was really comfortable and much larger than I expected. The onsen was lovely to relax in. Breakfast is a real Japanese experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely stay here again.

“Unforgettable ryokan stay”
A truly fantastic ryokan experience at Masutomi Ryokan. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and plentiful and the Sakura room was spacious and comfortable. An unforgettable experience that we’re really glad we booked!

Staying in a traditional ryokan was a unique experience. You have to roll with it a bit as it's not comparable to a more modern hotel, but if you're willing to do that you're in for a treat.

It looks not that exceptional from the outside but once you are in, you are welcomed into a very traditional Japanese style ryokan but with a tasteful decoration. Staff are very attentive, and breakfast is beautiful.

“Easy to reach cozy Ryokan with a nice interior and friendly staff”
It was the second time we stayed there and the service and friendliness was still top notch! You can reach the Ryokan easily by walking some 5-10 minutes from the Hakone Yumoto station (depending on your walking speed and baggage). They serve for dinner and breakfast excellent food prepared with mostly local ingredients. Just be sure to prepare some time to be there in timely matter for the meal (which is tradition for most Ryokan)

Typical japanese hotel. We chose the “bed&breakfast” option. The ryokan has several onsen rooms, which are great! (extra costs apply, but not much). One Onsen room is outside. There is a private Onsen on the rooftop. The rooms were big, nicely decorated (incl. TV) and very comfy beds. The traditional japanese breakfast was superbly presented - a proper experience! :)

“Would absolutely reccomend”
Perfect location. Just over the bridge and close to Everything we needed. The staff were incredible and accomodating. We loved our stay so much. The private onsen is very cool too.

“A true Hakone Ryokan experience”
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Greeting us and waving us goodbye as we entered and exited the building. We booked the room with a private onsen and it was beautiful, we used it multiple times during our stay.
