Staying here was one of the highlights of my trip due to the many nice people (both staff and guests). I would highly recommend booking the joined dinner which provides not only delicious food but is also a great way to mingle. I also really enjoyed exploring the Hakone area with the ropeway to the vulcanic area, the open air art museum and much more.

It’s a clean and comfortable guest house in a great location (just a 2-minute walk from the train station) with super welcoming, helpful, and friendly staff. The dinner is also a really cool experience, which I can highly recommend.

The Irori dinner is a beautiful experience where many people can sit down and enjoy a slow paced meal together! The staff are fun and kind and knowledgeable on the surrounding area! You can tell they want you to enjoy your stay!!

We have stayed with my friend for two nights and it was very nice. Comfortable beds, super nice shared kitchen and good location. Also the building itself is very authentic and atmospheric :)

Welcoming environment, clean spaces and very comfortable. I don’t usually like shared rooms but the bed compartment and curtains mas de it all very privet and cozy . They also provided ear plus which were great

The staff were so friendly. The place is clean and facilities are well maintained. As in the photos, the place has its own character too. One of my favourite hostels of all time!

“Amazing time in Hakone”

The traditional japanese architecture of the guesthouse, the nice social dinner at the irori, the cool people I met as a solo traveller, the coffee van just outside, the cool staff who someone makes irori art, I enjoyed a lot my stay there! I would DEFINITELY stay again! :) PS Don' t miss the Hakone Open Air Museum next door.

It was a beautiful, clean and had a really great stuff and atmosphere, we really felt like we were at home. The irori shared dinner was delicious and fun, we met a lot of great people and loved our stay 🫶 Bog thanks to the stuff, they were super nice and helpful!

The reception stuff (sorry we didn’t get your names) were super attentive and really friendly. They always recognised us when walking around and we got on with them super well. The shared meal was also amazing - great value and very tasty!

Amazing staff and really nice location with a wonderful cafe and sandwich shop out the front! Staff spoke English which was super helpful however also entertained my basic Japanese, which was very friendly and supportive. Had a wonderful time - could not recommend more highly! The dinner is a must, an irori is a spectacular communal experience

This is a really very special place, we were so happy to have found it. The location is excellent (right next to the Hakone sculpture park and easily in routes to hiking etc), the staff were delightful, the room was amazing and so stylish, the set dinner around the indoor fire pit was delicious, and it was also really good value. We very much appreciated being able to use the kitchen, and all the facilities were so clean and well thought out.

The Irori guest house was warm and welcoming. There was lots of information on the nearby onsens and attractions and they even provided us towels to take! Special mention to staff member Kira who went out of her way to ensure our stay was comfortable.
