Super nice hosts, traditional room atmosphere, fantatstic food (special) and very nice onsen (private and also the "public" onsen is private. Convenient location and great experience in Ryokan type (though modern) location.

The service was incredible. It was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. The staff helped us with every single request. I have traveled all over Japan and staying at Fukuya is now a must do for every trip.

Wonderful welcome and cozy stay. This is a traditional Ryokan, the room is very spacious . We did ask multiple times to get assigned a specific room and finally they did but be careful as the price is the same but some rooms do not have a nice outside onsen but just a tub

Yes the hotel is not bad, well located near the cruise - walkable but steep hill to walk - difficult with luggages. The private Onsen is mixed and not bad. The front desk male receptionist was always helpful to drop us off with his van.

Everything was perfect, stunning and delicious. Congratulations to the staff and special mention for the chef and its incredible dinner and breakfast. Onsen are simply fantastic.

It is a nice traditional ryokan located near the southern port of lake ashi. The rooms are very nice and clean. The kitatsu is a great touch. The food was ok but not the highlight. The staff are very kind and helpful.

The staff were incredibly attentive and kind. The ryokan itself was stunning and super comfortable. There was lots of food and it was very tasty! We had terrible weather during our stay but did not mind at all, since we got to enjoy the thermal baths and warm up in the kotatsu. Honestly wished we would have stayed here more days. This is the only hotel in my visit to Japan that i would return to instead of visiting a new place, that is how much i loved it here.

This place was beautiful inside and out with gorgoues outdoor views from our room! I booked the larger room with the private outdoor onsen for myself and my husband and it was perfect. The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. We got the traditional breakfest and dinner for both nights we stayed and it was yummy and an awesome experience within itself!

The service here was excellent! My mum and I had a great time. The onsen is not “private” in the sense that it’s not within your room, but when you’re using it, no one else can enter, so it’s essentially private. The breakfast and dinner was amazing as well, super fresh and delicious food. We had a great time and I’d definitely come back and also recommend this place!
