All excellent staff, very accommodating, helpful and friendly. From the day we arrive until departure. Superb!!! The place is truly a zen. Bedroom is sparkling clean. Food is michelin level. Private onsen at the balcony is heaven after all day tour. Highly recommended! We will stay at the same hotel in future. Thank you Zen!

We had a very nice stay at Hakone Yuyado Zen. View enjoyed great views of Mt Fuji during our stay. The onsen bath was very enjoyable. Loved the traditional food we had for breakfast and dinner.

“An incredible relaxing stay to finish off our trip to Japan”

The hotel was pure comfort from the minute we arrived. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. It had everything you needed. The onsen was amazing and enjoyable. The views from the hotel were incredible and close to so many attractions including the ropeway which enabled us to see Gora Park, the volcanic fissures emanating steam and the lake which you could walk around, not forgetting the view of Mount Fuji which you can see from the hotel and even the bus stop at the end of the road. The food was delicious and gave us an incredible experience of Japanese cuisine.

Beautiful hotel. Exceptional staff .

Having a private onsen is heavenly. The food is phenomonal. It is a lot, though. I expect to have gained some weight! We were lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji 2 out of 3 days that we were here.

The meals were very enjoyable, omakase style, and beautifully presented. The view from the dining room was peaceful and calming although we could not see Mt Fuji because it was a cloudy day. Lovely room with nice amenities, comfortable bed and enjoyed the provided pajamas and yukata. Really appreciated the in-room private onsen. Staff were polite, accommodating and very helpful with our requests to see the local sights.

Clean and good location Service Private Onsen

The nicest hotel we have ever stayed in - worth the money! Bath with hot springs on the balcony was wonderful, big enough with two people. We got the room with Fuji view and were lucky enough to get the clear skies during the whole weekend. There is free pick up from the bus stop/ropeway station so you don't need to come by car even though the location is a bit secluded. The dinner and breakfast were a separate experience - we don't love Japanese food but I must admit it was very cool.

We greatly enjoyed such an amazing and once-in-a-lifetime authentic Japanese experience here! All staff members, I.e. the shuttle bus drivers, receptionists, waiters and waitresses, were polite, friendly and professional. The rooms were well equipped, spotlessly cleaned, huge for Japanese standards, offering a nice private onsen and a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. The 8-course dinner and 7-course breakfast were well prepared, presented and served. We also liked the short walk to the private Lake Ashinoko lookout from the front of the hotel car park. We will come back and stay here again in the future.
