Overall the room and hotel did not live up to the expectations according to our booking. The room was damaged, dirty and moldy, a clear hazardous place to stay in. We did an immediate check-out and demanded refund. The only good thing I would say is that the hotel staff was very kind and helped us get to the train station after checkout. I guess they too felt bad for us coming all that way to then feel disappointed and catfished…

“Retro hotel with great service, could do with a spruce up”

Fantastic staff and service including shuttle from nearest bus or train station. The open air private onsen was a real treat and we enjoyed the in-room dining and massage. Nice to use the public onsen in the sister hotel too.

Overall, the stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally kind and spoke excellent English, which made the whole experience feel very welcoming and comfortable. The highlight was definitely the private open-air onsen bath on the terrace — a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The view was also stunning, especially at sunset. Dinner was outstanding, and the plum wine they served was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve had in Japan. While the overall experience was very enjoyable, the accommodation itself feels slightly dated and could benefit from some refreshing to fully match the otherwise high level of service and experience.

A great view of the surrounding area, courteous and kind staff with good mastery of English who gladly help with any inquiries. The food was appealing and delicious, and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The onsen was a real highlight, highly recommended!!!

“Exceptional service and ambient setting”

The room was very spacious and the decor was traditional with modern furnishing which created a comfortable setting. The in room onsen with natural spring water is exceptional as the temperature was set perfectly and could be appreciated at all times of the day/night. The booking included a glass of champagne on arrival and half board in room dining service, this itself was a luxury experience. The staff were highly attentive and so helpful. This must be as close to having a personal butler as I will ever have. Highly recommended for a relaxing break to remove yourself from the busy world and recover from jet lag.

“Luxury oasis”

We loved everything! It was pure luxury! The food was 5 star. There was also one worker who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. He seemed to always be there with a smile on his face and trying to communicate in English where we should have been the one trying to communicate in Japanese. The hot springs bath on the balcony was so relaxing. They provided a shuttle to the nearest station that we could access throughout our stay which made getting around very easy.

The room was big and the private onsen on the balcony was lovely. The concierge was wonderful and helped us with meals, booking a massage, travel arrangements and sorting the shuttle service. The food is very traditional and unique and a good experience.
