On the shores of Lake Ashinoko, Hakone Hotel offers hot spring public baths, free property-wide WiFi, beautiful nature views and restaurants serving French cuisine and Teppanyaki dishes. The spacious rooms have a private bathroom and a seating area with sofa. The hotel is about a 35-minute bus ride from Hakone Yumoto Train Station, and a 35-minute drive from JR Odawara Train Station. Hakone Shrine is a 15-minute drive away, while Owakudani volcanic vent is 15 km from the hotel. Hotel Hakone’s air-conditioned rooms are equipped with a fridge. A bathtub, hairdryer and yukata robe are provided in the attached bathroom. Guests can try canoeing, fishing and other water activities, or relax with a massage at the esthetic clinic. Well kept property despite its age. Comfortable beds and nice facilities. Great location from Motohakone, either a short bus ride or walk to the Hakone Shrine. Beautiful Onsen to relax in overlooking the lake!

Spacious room & bathroom. We had a nice lake view with the top of Fuji Mount in the background. The breakfast was very good with a lot of options. Very convenient location for visiting the maine attractions.

Great location at the shores of the Lake Ashi. Cruise ship and busstop just next door. Good view of Fuji Summit. Lovely outdoor setting on the balcony as well as the lawns below.

Beautiful views of Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji on a clear day. A short walk to a beautiful observatory to get a better view too. Large rooms, which is a luxury in Japan. Welcome drink at the bar is a nice touch. Good breakfast.

“Exceptional hotel with incredible views.”
The room was huge with an exceptional view down the lake - we could see Mt Fuji on clear days. The beds were comfy. Every convenience provided in the room. We were offered welcome drinks each evening and there was a tea/coffee station available throughout the day. The breakfast buffet was very varied and generous - particularly enjoyed the pancake machine! The garden area was nice with hammocks and varied seating to enjoy being outside with a view of the lake. The staff were very friendly and so helpful. The whole building is elegant and has a nice atmosphere. Well-situated next to the ferry (pirate ship) and a bus stop to connect you to the rest of Hakone.

The view was amazing, all the staff were wonderful and accomodating. The location is walking distance (in my opinion) from motohakone ko, and the entire area is peaceful. The breakfast was great!

“Beautiful lake views, spacious rooms, and thoughtful touches made this a truly memorable stay.”
The hotel was amazing. The room was large and spacious, overlooking the lake, and on clear days you could even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji behind it. The hotel also features a small museum that explains its history, and there are restaurants nearby. Since we arrived late, we were given a voucher for one of the hotel’s restaurants, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was very good. In terms of location, it’s within walking distance of the boat cruise and bus stops that connect to more central areas, and there is also a convenience store nearby. Overall, a beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, and thoughtful service made this a wonderful and memorable stay.
