Everything about the stay was fantastic, the food, the amenities, the staff, the facilities, everything went beyond my expectations and helped give a wonderful birthday weekend to my partner. They thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs and the beautiful open bath.

“A magical spring stay in Hakodate”

We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Bourou Noguchi in Hakodate for my partner’s birthday. We really wanted to be able to relax and take time off. The staff ware outstanding and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay at every point in time. The room is very large, and beautiful, with a great view from the 12th floor. The in-room Onsen is also very large, and it was our favourite part of the room. The temperature could be controlled easily with the flow of hot and cold water. The public bath, bedrock bath, SPA facilities (my partner had a massage) and top-floor bar were all top-tier and were thoroughly enjoyed by us. We found the food experience outstanding. Not only was the food tasty, creatively prepared and presented, but it was extremely varied across the 4 dinners and 4 breakfasts we were served during our stay. It never felt that the menu was being repeated for even two days in a row. We really appreciated it and it made our experience more enjoyable. All ingredients were fresh and local, with notes where this or that ingredient were sourced. Everyone’s favourite “Uni” (sea urchin) also made an appearance a few time as sashimi and with rice. The chef even prepared a small birthday cake on the dinner of my partner’s birthday, and it was a very appreciated touch. I could go on, but in the end this was a magical experience that we will remember fondly. I would certainly be back if I was ever in Hakodate and I would certainly recommend it.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay with our baby. The food was excellent throughout our stay (better than normal good ryokan standard), with an emphasis on local ingredients. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Food was amazing, private onsen was great. The dinner option is highly recommended. Staff also polite and friendly. Fridge comes with complimentary drinks, such as beer, tea and water.

Amazing stay at this hotel. We stayed for my birthday and it was awesome. The hotel itself was fantastic and the scent they dispersed through the hotel was amazing, smelt so good. Our room was great, very clean, comfortable and a great mix of traditional/modern amenities and aesthetics. We had a private onsen on our balcony which was unreal. We opted for traditional dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was incredible. They even went to the effort of bringing out a desert with a candle for my birthday. Would 100% stay again.

Exceptionally great onsen ryokan, staffs were very kind and attentive. Facilities were well maintained. I had a quiet and relax stay.

Wonderful food and superb facilities. The hot spring bathing was so relaxing! The staff were friendly and professional. I came away feeling totally refreshed and relaxed.

The customer service is top notch, the willingness to help on any request or requirement you might have. They were absolute legends, and even though I have tattoos they accomodate a time after midnight for me to enjoy the hot springs. The food was Michelin star quality love it to the core and really focus on local produces.

Good location with tram station nearby. Nicely presented breakfast and dinner, with a private room for the five of us and dedicated staff to serve us. We didn’t expect to have one massage included in our package. We enjoyed the massage. The Onsen in the room was comfortable.

The public onsen was good. The meals were good. The staff were good, even when our bags were sent to another hotel, they helped us locate them and send them to us. Our meal service man was good, polite and service flawless

Brilliant place with amazing staff. We will be back. Very disappointed we had to give up one night as our son got Covid so we had to stay on in Tokyo. Will make up for it next time.

“Heaven in a hot spring”

Our room was superb. From our room we had a view of the port. The in room hot spring bath was a real winner!! As it was our first time, was easier for my kids to have our family privacy than in the public bath. The stone sauna that they have is a gem! If only I found it earlier! Being in there really helped my tired muscles from all the walking. Room was spacious and we got to have both the western beds as well as the tatami mattresses to experience both. Family agreed that the tatami mats was very comfortable and we got the best night sleep on those. The Japanese dinner and breakfast was delicious and pretty as a picture. Was definitely a treat. Staff were extremely helpful and assisted even with giving advice for other tourist attractions and travel. Would definitely go again
