Overview
Located an 8-minute walk from JR Higashihagi Train Station, Hagi No Yado Tomoe, proudly presents its century-old authentic, Japanese atmosphere. Rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning/heating, a seating area and a flat-screen TV. In addition, free toiletries, an electric kettle and a refrigerator are also available to guests. At Tomoe Hagi no Yado, guests can soak in the indoor hot spring baths, enjoy the view of the Zen garden or get a relaxing massage at a surcharge. Guests can also find a gift shop and drinks vending machines on site. Authentic Japanese cuisines featuring fresh, local seafood and vegetables are served. Meals are served in rooms or in private dining rooms. From the property, guests can visit the Hagi Castle Town within a 10-minute drive or take an 8-minute drive to Shoin Shrine. Guests can also visit the Shoka Village School within a 9-minute drive.

Loved all of it- Hagi is a great place to relax wander and enjoy the history and the food at the ryokan. Bring your cultural awareness and sink into it. Sea swimmers - excellent beach for swimming at the sculpture park.

Where to begin. You will experience not just any accommodation but the very best traditional Japanese accommodation and an immersive cultural experience with Western facilities. Huuuuge rooms fit for a guest of royalty, of which 100 yrs ago was in fact, the case. Lovely traditional garden courtyard awaits you for coffee after a traditional chef inspired breakfast.

Beautiful ryokan in the lovely town of Hagi. The food was outstanding, the kaiseki dinners and the breakfasts are among the best we have experienced in our visits to Japan and the service was perfect, with everything done to enhance our experience, thank you. The rooms were beautiful and the gardens inside the ryokan were stunning.

We stayed 2 nights and had the Kaiseki dinner served in the room 1 evening. The hotel is a beautiful blend of a traditional inn with modern elements. It managed this across the property and in the excellent meals which had a touch of fusion. The staff were welcoming and attentive at all times.

“A memorable stay in Wonderland Hagi”
Hagi No Yado Tomoe is a charming historic Inn that provides a high standard of accommodation and customer service. The building is lovely with a stunning large zen garden. Our tatami room was spacious, clean and comfortable with separate entrance room and bedroom offering very comfortable western style beds. There were large windows offering lovely garden and river views. Inn staff were very helpful and prior to arriving our bus station pick-up was arranged and a Shrine tour for the next day, that was very enjoyable and informative. The Inn also provided good information for further self-planned exploration of wonderful Hagi and as the weather was very hot when there, drove us to a starting point for our self exploration. All information regarding the use of the on-site onsen was provided with lovely high quality products and requirements provided in the room. The traditional breakfasts were truly exceptional with a great deal of care and expertise involved in providing the best service and presentation possible and using amazing local produce. I highly recommend the Inn and would love to stay again.

Staff are super helpful and attentive. Large traditional suite, traditional meals E-bikes for loan to get around town- Hagi is flat but the sites are quite spread out Onsen perfect for sore muscles after a long day of sightseeing.
