We stayed at Villa Takaosa for three months as retired guests, and it became much more than just accommodation – it truly felt like a home. For us, Takao was the ideal location. We were not looking for large tourist crowds but for authentic Japanese everyday life. All essential services were within walking distance, which made daily life easy and pleasant. The area offers excellent hiking and cycling routes, a good local gym, and even a traditional sento bath – exactly what we were hoping for. It allowed us to experience the rhythm of Japanese life in a natural and unhurried way. The apartment is located in a charming old house with character and history. It is not a modern luxury building, but that is precisely its appeal. The peaceful setting, away from traffic noise, made it especially suitable for a longer stay. What truly made our time special was the exceptional kindness and helpfulness of the staff. We felt safe, genuinely welcomed, and well cared for throughout our stay. It was in a convenient location close to Mt Takao, great for a hiking trip with friends and family. The interior design was very international and colourful, while it still had a classic Japanese room with tatami mats, which made for a fun blend of cultures. The beds were comfortable. The staff in the restaurant downstairs attached to the property were very friendly and accommodating.

For a long stay there was enough room for a family. The villa had everything that we needed for a two week stay and was in a convenient location close to Takao station so it was easy for us to get around Tokyo.
