“Fantastic jungle retreat”

Wow, it was fantastic. We have travelled around Sri Lanka for a month and ended our trip here and I am so glad we did because going the other way round would have made everything else an anti climax. Ruwan, the owner was fabulous throughout our time here and nothing was a problem. He went out of his way to make our stay here as memorable as possible. He is also a very good cook. We ate here every meal because they were tasty and fresh and we were unable to finish because of the amount. The pool was great and we enjoyed watching the monkeys playing in the trees above. This is a proper jungle retreat with animal parks very close by. We even saw wild elephants walking on the side of the road. Ruwan and his staff made us feel very special and if we come back to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay here again. Many thanks H Ruwan.

We liked everything, Ruwan is the man. He helped us with so many things, transport, day trips. Lovely little pool surrounded by nature, super affordable, brand new AC machine and the comfiest bed of our trip. It had a beautiful pair of paintings on the wall 😀

Location and calm surroundings. Having become unwell during my stay, Ruwan supported me throughout organising visits to local doctors and providing all that I needed. He even quickly arranged for me to stop an extra night to recover. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast was also varied and filling.

The room was very comfortable and relatively spacious. There was air conditioning and breakfast was delicious.

The owner was lovely and made sure everything was taken care of. He helped me organize where to go and organized transport as well. Was a lovely quiet place to stay. feed was fabulpus and there was live music every night which was lovely during dinner.

“Excellent, local guesthouse for exploring the cultural triangle”

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Visu Villa. The breakfast was amazing and any food we purchased on site was brilliant (good value and freshly cooked on site). Ruwan (the main host), Buddhika (a local car driver for the hotel), Dhilip (a local bird guide/musician/man of many talents) were helpful, friendly, genuine people who knew the area and went out of their way to make sure our stay was good as it could be. The support staff were also very attentive and professional. Our Double Room was comfortable and the communal pool was great to cool off in after a hot morning of exploring. The vibe of the hotel was very nice - semi jungly. Overall, the location was great - close enough to town to walk, but not on the main strip, which was better to be away from. Also a convenient location to do day trips from. Thank you team Visu Villa for a fantastic stay - we won't forget you.

We stayed at Visu Villa Habarana for two nights and had a truly wonderful time. From the very beginning, we were welcomed with a delicious refreshing drink, which was perfect after our journey. The atmosphere was amazing – in the evening there was a fantastic singer playing the guitar, creating a magical and relaxing vibe. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent safari experience, which we would highly recommend to everyone visiting the area. The breakfast was rich and tasty, especially the fresh fruit salad, which was absolutely delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again one day.

The service was good! They always prepared breakfast to go for me early in the morning and helped with my airport transfer for a fair price.

Great atmosphere in the place, despite the couple of days of rain. Breakfast was decent, room was huge and generally was good.

“Excellent host and great location”

We had a long train journey from Colombo and were met at the station and taken to our hotel and made very welcome. All the staff were friendly and did everything to make our stay the best. They went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our trips to the Safari and all the main attractions in the area. The breakfast was really nice with plenty of tasty options. Bar area is quiet and relaxing and has some nice live acoustic music to chill out to or sing along with. 5 star

“Jungle getaway with amazing host!”

The host was amazing - all his staff were really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The jungle feel of the place was lovely & monkeys playing in the trees outside was great! Huge fruit plates for breakfast were lovely.

Great hospitality and place! The owner Ruwan with his staff made the stay memorable. Would really recommand this place. Cozy, friendly and a great atmosphere. Also Ruwan was very helpful setting up excursion plans at day time, so I got to see all I wanted during my short stay.

Quiet and peaceful location, handy for safaris, good food with live entertainment, friendly and helpful staff. A good place o relax.

“Lovely little find”

This property is old and rustic with a local charm. There is a pool which is bonus . Rooms had tea and coffee making facilities and a tv. Aircon and mosquito net in one of the rooms. Basic toiletries and towels. The best part of this place are the staff especially Ruhan and his brother the owners. They went above and beyond to help us during our stay and are very knowledgeable and friendly.

The host was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the location ideal for visiting the main sights in the area. Spacious clean room plus a good breakfast. Would definately recommend!

Very well priced , room had ac bathroom didn’t fully dry after shower after a while only downside

Ruwan and team really looked after me and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. His local knowledge helped me out with everything I needed to make the most out of my stay. It's also a great location to visit all the surrounding ancient sites, and after a hot day exploring, it was nice to cool off in the swimming pool. I would recommend staying at Visu Villa Hotel to others 😊

Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and very well prepared with a good variety of choices. Everything tasted homemade, healthy, and very satisfying, making a perfect start to the day. The location is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by beautiful nature, which creates a calm and relaxing environment away from noise and crowds. It is an ideal place to relax, unwind, and truly enjoy your time. Visu Villa Habarana Restaurant and Bar is a beautiful and well maintained place with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms and dining areas were clean, comfortable, and nicely arranged. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. Special thanks to the Owner and Manager, Mr. Ruwan Sanjeewa, for his warm hospitality, professionalism, and great management. He personally made sure that guests are comfortable and happy, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Habarana for a peaceful stay, great food, and outstanding service. Definitely a place I would love to visit again.
