Our stay was amazing at Swan Lake Hotel. The owner of the hotel Kalhara was super friendly and very caring and in addition, he has the biggest heart that anyone could have. 🫶🏻❤️ The restaurant place is in a quiet location near beautiful rice fields. We went on kayaking trip at the lake and it was an unforgettable experience. The rice fields after passing the village is a must to visit and is around a hundred KM. Plenty of birds and a stunning green landscape. For whoever wanna stay anywhere nearby HABARANA, this is the best place to stay..

The room was clean and the owner was very friendly and supportive. The owners offered to cook traditional Sri Lankan home-style dinners both nights we stayed. They helped us with organising the Echo Park safari by providing the jeep and driver. Only a 30 min drive to Sigiriya.

Lovely family owned and operated accommodation. Three large rooms, modern, good shower and location. Fantastic home cooked meals, better than dining out, easily the best dinner we've had in Sri Lanka. Peaceful garden setting outside and cool air conditioning inside. Our hosts, Kalhara and his lovely wife were amazing. Very attentive while still allowing us privacy. Genuine Sri Lankan family experience.

“A wonderful stay”

The host is very welcoming, always respond to our needs and checks if we feel comfortable staying at the lodge. He also came to the train station to pick us up and sometimes he offered to drive us to the city free of charge, we really appreciated that. Room is spacious and spotless, we got everything we need, hot shower, hairdryer. The breakfast and the diner are REALLY AMAZING! A SUPER big plus for this place, and they CHANGE menu everyday, so we had a bit of everything during our stay.

Helped us in arranging the sight-seeing trips, safari, boat rides and other required transports. The room was lovely, very clean. Family run property with amazing hospitality. The breakfast was lovely. We were offered dinner too which was prepared with lots of love. Kalhara was so welcoming and helped us with getting a massage, safari, and a lift to Sigiriya. He picked us up and took us to local restaurants.

Close to town, the verandah and garden were very pleasant. It was close to the national parks which are good for elephant spotting. The host could arrange safaris for you.

“Amazing hospitality with a personal touch”

Kalhara and his wife are great hosts who truly care for their guests, going out of their way to make sure guests have an exceptional experience — even after their stay at the Swan Lake. Three clean rooms with comfortable beds, AC and hot water are set in a beautiful garden with all kinds of plants and wildlife, including the occasional monkey. The Sri Lankan breakfast they serve is exceptional and varies daily. Various Sri Lankan dishes are available for dinner, maybe a bit pricier than at some places in town but absolutely delicious and well worth it. Kalhara is very knowledgeable, easygoing, reliable, quick to respond and eager to organize tours and transport even on short notice. In town, there are also plenty of tuk tuks to take you wherever you want to go. It's best to get an impression of the going rates before booking anything. The Swan Lake is a great place to stay, I can highly recommend it and I'd go back in a heartbeat.
