We had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend this homestay highly enough. The hosts were some of the warmest, kindest, and most welcoming people we have met during our travels. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel special. The meals were absolutely incredible—huge, delicious, home-cooked feasts showcasing the best local food. Every meal was a highlight of our stay. The rooms are very clean and great aircon, all set in manicured garden. The property is a short distance from town but host happily took us to town. They also arranged a great safari for us.

The beautiful garden, the peaceful bedroom, and most of all the warmth and kindness of Vamana and his wife. I slept so well in the bedroom, it is comfortable, impecable and has a lovely warm shower. One of the best places I have stayed in for its genuine hospitality The guest house is close to Habarana and to all the main sights, the protect eeserves to see rhe elefants and Sigiriya. The hosts helped to organise the safari to see the elefants and also took me to Sirigiya by tuk tuk. What i also really appreciated is their honesty!

“Leafy tranquility & kindness”

We loved this small family-owned hotel! The owner is a kind man, his wife cooks the breakfasts and dinners, which are generous, delicious and very affordable. The price for the whole experience is pretty unbelievable. There is hot water in the shower and a refrigerator. They've created a little paradise with their own hands, there are plants everywhere on the territory. We really enjoyed our interactions with the owner. The hotel is located down a peaceful alley of beautiful homes and rice fields. We loved taking walks there every evening after our time of exploration. We highly recommend this hotel!

“10/10 cant recommend enough”

Such a lovely and welcoming host, he was happy to drop us to a restaurant for lunch and when the tuktuk we rented broke down him and his sons were there within 10 minutes to help us fix it and drive is back to the hotel. The breakfast was great and very filling. It was cooked for you whenever you were ready for it, we had an early morning safari and they had breakfast ready for us when we returned. I would highly recommend staying here

“A tranquil home from home”

It really was a home from home, with Vimal, the host’s father giving lifts and making sure I had everything I needed and his wife cooking the delicious food. The room itself was clean and spacious with a hot shower with good pressure. The best part was the terrace, looking out over the beautiful garden, where meals were served.

The property is beautiful, very well kept. It is full of plants and flowers, which is a bonus because the rooms have a small patio where you can have breakfast and dinner, and the surroundings are great. The food is exceptional, and very big portions. They also offered to help us with the tuktuk, very helpful. The family is very welcoming, happy to help with anything.

“Warm family homestay with the best breakfast”

We chose Priyavimana for the great rating - and the reviews didn't lie! The accommodation is clean, the garden is beautiful, the family is very sweet and helpful, and the breakfast is huge, tasty and every day a bit different! It was also possible to order homemade curry for dinner, which was a bit pricey (2200 lkr per person), but freshly made just for us when we arrived, and a huge portion again. Wimal pick us up from the train station and also brought us to the bus when we needed. He also took us to Pidurangala Rock for sunrise, where he waited for us and took us to Dambulla Rock Cave after with his tuk-tuk. All the tuk-tuk rides were fairly priced (the pickup was actually free). We booked a safari trip through the family, and we really appreciated the guide understood we'd rather see fewer elephants than hunting them down with tens of other cars. As a reward, we had a beautiful elephant family with a little baby just for ourselves. :) PS: The room without AC with the fan was absolutely ok!

I have nothing but praise for Priyavimana Resort! We stayed in a room with a terrace surrounded by palm trees, where you can enjoy breakfast accompanied by birdsong and squirrels. The owners are very kind and helpful. In addition to the fantastic breakfast (other meals are also available on request and I highly recommend trying them at least once), they were also a great help with excursions and sightseeing. The owner has a tuk-tuk and can easily take you to your desired destination. Communication in English was smooth and without any problems. Cleanliness was of a very high standard. During our trip around Sri Lanka, we stayed at several similar accommodations, and Priyavimana Resort was definitely among the very best, both in comfort and cleanliness. I’d also like to point out that they offered assistance in advance with organizing transportation from the airport as well as to our next destination. If (or rather, when) we return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay here again.

“Comfortable villa stay in exotic garden, restaurants within walking distance”

Priyavimana resort is not really a resort; it´s a villa with two bedrooms in a beautiful, exotic garden. The owners live in a separate house on the grounds. The villa is spacious, breakfast is included, and copious. It´s a family-run business, and they are very friendly. The night we stayed there, the English-speaking host was not available, which made communication a bit difficult, but the parents of the host did everything to make our stay comfortable. On my departure, they allowed me to take their small (empty) Ceylon tea box home, which now has a special place in my kitchen :-) They explained that air conditioning wasn´t included in the Booking price, as they had just installed it three days ago. They asked a small extra amount, which we considered reasonable. The ride to the Kaudulla NP takes about 30 minutes, and the safari guide can pick you up with his jeep.

The garden is beautiful and the family is the most kind ever! You will feel as being in a kind family :) Also the room and bathroom was very clean and the downtown is close with lots of restaurant options. I highly recommend this place!
